During 2008, participants will try their best to use only their existing stash to make their quilts and quilted projects.
You also must keep a written record of all quilts you completed from your stash during 2008! This is not something that you will need to send in the mail (so you're saving on postage!). There will be no stash-busting police to check on your honesty!!
Just got April surprises sent out! Surprise- I forgot to put a note inside with it!!
The challenge for you is to decide how to use it and show us or tell us what you did!
Also, LRMart- can't find your addy to send your surprise. Please PM me!
Anyone who should have been on the April list but wasn't (check the prevous thread), please let me know so you won't miss out! It's hard to imagine that there were only a dozen!!
Well, my garden has more veggies planted in it now, so of course, I've taken my antihistamine. (I'm kind of allergic to gardening stuff! ) So, depending on when the med kicks in, I may or may not be able to do some more sewing today!
Yippppppeeee! l have something done for May!!! Just a simple cotton receiving blanket with lace trim and a matching burp clothe but at least it was from my stash and it's done. Good thing it's finished, too, b/c the baby shower is tomorrw! l was going to make 2 sets but my serger started breaking threads for no apparent reason and then as l was finishing off the burp clothe the needle broke on my regular machine. l gave up and quit! One set will just have to do. No pic tonight but l'll get one up soon.

got a few bibs done this morning while working on my machine...now a broken needle has been unable to sew for the moment... but at least at this point I got 3 bibs totally done!!! WOOHOOO that's 3 more then I had done before right?
Just harvested my first big bowl full of lettuce from my garden, does that count?? lol! Also, just planted more varieties of lettuce and carrots and more Swiss chard (we can never have too much Swiss chard!!)
But.........I also appliqued several more flowers to that BOM I'm working on with applique in the center panel. Will take a progress photo of that tonight to post.
Pat sounds yummy!!! I am finally actually planting flowers this year with the kids... usually I b uy the flowers and never seem to plant them so they sit in the flower flats and die..not this year!! Some are already int he ground and I'll plant the rest next weekend for sure! I'm so proud of myself on this!
I did finish 16 babybibs today...got some new needles...hoping to keep working on some projects tonight and do the kids b ook reports with them tommorrow. Still no word from Susan on Sophie's coming out LOL b ut I'll keep everyone posted.
ps I thougth it would help me to get things organized and a master list of my UFO's/WIP b ut lets just say I got really depressed when the list near the 100 project list... some of them are little easy things to get done, including tops that just need to be quilted b ut still that's just wrong wrong wrong in my book!
Lettuce already? Received my surprise today, how cute!! my DH laughed out loud (that's really amazing seeing him laugh at fabric) Did you have something in mind for us to do with the surprise? Back to sewing this week!!
That's your challenge, britgal! All of you who get the surprise will have to decide how to use it! Then, tell us or show us a photo of what you used it for: pillow, individual squares made into W/H, whatever....
I actually have 2 kiwi bushes planted too- the arctic variety, they don't have to be peeled to eat and they will start having fruit within a couple years!
kiwi in ohio? hmmmm sounds interesting! I need to remember to water our flowers so they will grow pretty.
I didn't get much done yesturday.... really I did buy green thread adn had hoped to get the last of the charity quilts quilted but no go...got to helping the kids with book reports instead. Today I was teaching and then am in the computer lab at the kids school and then they have "chatty chefs" after school so don't know if I will get it done today. But I WILL I promised) get the baby quilt layered so that I can get it quilted this week...that and making binding will be my goals.
ok off to get lunch and get to the kids school....keep stitching! (hopefully I will get to chat with Susan today as well)
I got a little something in the mail from pat today. I just laugh myself silly every time I look at it! I already have a great idea for what to do with it, now I just need to find the time! Thanks pat!
Funny things: Me: "It's time for bed and I want you to be quiet." Son: "Well... I don't know... but I'll try."

Got my surprise today. Very cute...now...what to do with it! Hmmmmm....
I also got blocks made for Rockin'Bobbin & Sunshine quilters so far. Seems all I get made out of my stash are blocks! I've only done 2 actual quilts so far this year!
Here's what I did for Hannah's quilt (for Rockin')...I made 2 of the same...
