adding a border ??
I've got the center done (started 8 years ago at a class, went home stuck in a bag, got the pieces out about 6 months ago, finished the blocks and put a couple rows together, then finished assembling blocks into rows this am!

I have 1 yard of the green fabric and 2 yards of the lt pink with darker pink roses on it. I thought about just a 6 inch green border then a 6 inch pink one, but it just looks BLAH! Any suggestions?

Maybe try to vary the sizes of the borders, a 4 inch then six inch. Or add a fine frame border, then the wider ones. You could use the same sizes as the piecing squares, (the little pink square size and the large pink sizes) to keep the flow going.

QW took the words out of my mouth...start with an inner narrower border and make the pink wider. You ought to like using more pink!

Do you have any parts of the blocks left? maybe you could add them to the corners to help break up the border.

The only idea I have to add to the great suggestions you've already been given is to make the binding from a different fabric than the outer border for an extra design element. This is going to be a very pretty quilt when its all done.

.... why do you need a border? Or maybe a curved floral fabric finish?

I cannot change 'things', but I can change how I feel about them. Me.

The suggestions you got are good. I like the idea of a smaller green border next to the quilt.
Looks like a really nice quilt! I like it!

Do you have any of the red left, or a similar red? I think a narrow (maybe 2" at most) red border, followed by a wider pink or green would look really nice.
I think that there's not really enough contrast between the pink & green to use both in the border, unless you do a piano key border with them...but I'd still like to see a narrow red border first.

No border ideas but wanted to say how pretty the quilt is. Kind of like the idea of a wavy or scalloped border.

It's very pretty as is, my thought is the same and City/Sandie, maybe a floral that incorporates the colors but isn't in the center. I think I would use a narrow dark fabric to "stop" the design, then a larger one as the finale.
