A little birdie must have told you I needed cheering up. Your package arrived today and really made my day. I came back from the quilting retreat on Sunday to find my DH on the floor. He had been there for 10 hours and could not get up. He originally refused to let the parimetics take him to the ER but I convinced him he had to go. The ER doc said in 2 more hours he would have been gone. Long story short, he will be coming home tomorrow but will be incapacitated for 6 weeks. He has a very bad leg infection. They say Go d never gives you more than you can handle, I hope he soon finds out I cannot handle anymore. Thank you so for your kindness. Sometimes people just know when you need a little lift.

Owie,
I'm so sorry about your DH and so glad there's thoughtful people who knew somehow that you needed a lift. When my DH was 25 he ignored the doctor's instructions about a gash from soccer cleats and got gangrene. I'd spent weeks arguing with him without success. When he ended up in ICU I walked out when his mother came in. She was a tiger who had been an RN in that ICU for 30 years. She straightened him out bless her heart. She knew exactly the danger he was in and was not sympathetic at all. Sometimes tough love is needed instead of pampering. He got pampered when he finally got out of the hospital but I kept threatening to call his Mommy.

Nancyc, isn't it incredible how our mind works. I was going to stay at the retreat until later in the afternoon but felt that I should go home early.
Thanks everyone for your t&p's.

thanx for the update Mary, everyone at the retreat is concerned. So sorry this happened after having such a good time at the retreat. I knew after you talked to your husband on Saturday night that you were uncomfortable. Your decision to leave right after breakfast was a good one.
