Anyone use them? Do you like them? Any down side? Are they too much detergent for a small load or too little for a very large load? They look like they'd be handy for travel.

I bought a bag of these pods and used them for a couple of loads of laundry. I started breaking out in little blisters. Had to rewash both loads in order to be able to wear the clothes without itching. I do use it, though, when I need to pre-wash loads of fabric since I don't want to waste what cost me almost $8. Would I buy these again? No.

Yikes! I guess if I want to take them on a trip, I'd better try them out at home first. That would be no fun to find out while on the road!

Never use anything other than All. Been using it for years and guess it has turned into a "tradition".

I read on the news that with any pods (dishwasher or laundry) they look good to little kids who think they are candy. Many kids have had serious problems after digesting. My one year old grand daughter was over. She has never touched my dishwashing stuff. She can climb and get into anything. It got quiet in my kitchen, who do I find trying to eat one? The whole bag went in the garbage. Not worth the risk.

Since adulthood hit - I have lived in 6 different homes. Each had a different water source. Before "green" detergents, I have found that the amount of detergents called for is generally too much.

I'm sure this applies to detergents that are not HE.
The water just needs to be a bit "slickery" - that is a technical term. Try adding a little less each load, stop the action, open the lid/door and feel the water. You may use 25% to 50% less depending on your water.

With the old-style top loading machines, this was easy to determine. The detergents were better then too.

With my front loader, I have to use less than the recommended HE detergent because suds remain after the rinse cycle.

I used the All clear ones in our delicate loads, which are much smaller than normal loads and found that the cups of our bras were filled with a gross jelly-like substance. Yup ... undiluted soap. So I went back to the liquid for small loads.

For regular sized loads, it works well when DD's start their jeans. They don't add too much HE stuff that way. So I still buy these also. I think our current container might be the Tide stuff. I'm not brand loyal.

I am concerned about the clear shell leaving residue in the drain. When I first used them, I felt around the bottom of the tub after the detergent had dispersed. The shell hadn't dissolved completely yet. I suppose it eventually did by the end of the cycle. I only use them now when I am using hot water.

Also I have an old top-loading machine, not HE and not front loading. I use two for a full load.

eta: Seeing Stars, that gross jelly stuff may have been the shell. That's what mine felt like. Yuck.

I like the Purex three in one sheets for when we travel. It doesn't make my skin break out or itch - cleans and is easy to put in a Ziploc bag and use as we are moving

i bought them to take to the cottage when visiting my brothers place..
but when we go camping, i put the correct amount of dry tide, and a little borax (water softner) in snack zip bags. much cheaper, i usually make up about 10 of them.

I think you all have me convinced to forget about them. Slimy stuff?! No thanks, Tide!

I use Purex Pods and am happy with them. I do my laundry at the laundrimat, so I'm not worried about the pipes/drains. I use one in the top loaders and two in the big front loaders. I always use medium or hot water and have never seen any residue or goo. DH is very sensitive to detergents but has not had any issues since I've been using them I buy them on sale for $1.99.

I use Tide Pods and love them. Have never found any goo in my bras or anyplace else. They do have the right amount and work great on all loads. I have been using them for almost a year and have no itching. I do keep them in the laundry room in a high cupboard so the dogs or even kids can't get to them.

I bought a container of them on Dec. 19th and am still using them. This is the only one I use now. I was ready to replace my washer because my clothes were not getting as clean as I like. No problem now. I keep them above the washer in a cabinet.

Mollie, try cleaning your washing machine too..we have a top loader, and took out the agitator, it was so nasty under it! we do this now:

EWWW!!!! I had no idea my front loader needed this done.... Can I just say, I now know why my clothes have had a strange icky smell lately. It wasn't my detergent not working...it was the stench from the nasty clogged up filter. Thank you Kim- Strut526 for posting this!

if my kids were all young and still home, i would of considered having an HE..
it was nasty slimy under the agitator, Joe took it outside and used a high pressure hose on it..we used a vinegar rinse on it when done..
