Well I got a late start because DH had a few complications at the dialysis clinic today, and had to stay longer then he normally does. But he was as eager as I to go. We went to this LQS right off interstate 75,called SEW BEE IT. It was more then we had expected, so we plan to go back very soon, when we have more time to browse. I'm gonna be taking a few classes too.Probably some of the beginner classes to start with. Anyway here's what I added to my stash. A few of these are of gifts for the swap I'm in, so I bought yardage on those. The others are for three different projects on my to do list.I bought the bright prints for a pattern I haven't seen anywhere just something that was in my head, so i tried it out first by sewing paper together to see would it work.Don't want to waste not fabric. Well here;s the pic of what I got.Looks like my flash washed the color out somewhat.

Lovely fabric. Tell me, did you find the folks who owned the shop friendly? The one shop we had here closed..and I can understand why. I was there twice..and they had a very cold attitude.

Oh they were great. She added me to her mailing list,Also she omformed me that to keep my receipts because after you spend so many $ you get a free yard of fabric.I"m not far from it, probably get it next trip. She told me she'd cut many fq's from anything I liked that wasn't already cut.I asked her about a fabric line that's just came out,and she's suppost to email about it.They prices on the classes I thought were great. I don't know what they usually cost, but it was 25$ for 3 months. They also have nights where quilters just get together to share what their working and chit chat. By the way she had a quilt in there that was absolutely beautiful it looked like a wonked log cabin, she had made the fabric she used was what made this quit so lovely.Does anyone know where to get this pattern, she was out of them.I bet it sold quick.

There are so many variations on the log cabin block, it's kind of hard to know without a little better description of "wonked"...Smile

Did it have small logs on one side and larger ones on the other?...if so, it's the traditional block, just change up the strip widths.

If the piecing was different,,,it could be a courthouse steps block...which one variation.

I'm sure if you asked her the next time for the type of quilt block...you could probably find it on line.

LQS's ROCK!

You can order online from them so if you see something you're interested in, you can get it on your next trip. I looked at their website and they do have a lot of stuff to look at in one visit! Is the store located in Ringgold?

Yes,it is located right off I 75, exit 348 , only 1/2 mile on left. Their website doesn't do them justice.I thought it was a great shop.I think it has just recently reopened, but was rated 1 of the top ten shops in the 2003 by BHG.

Love the fabric on the left of the pic, kind of a feather design, just love those.

After my DH has dialysis, he's shot for the day, and usually rests in bed, or sleeps the rest of the day he so whipped. We don't plan anything on those days.

Thanks for the info on this LQS (although "local" doesn't apply here for me, LOL) but whenever we're traveling on I-75, I'll have to keep it in mind. I'm going to print out your directions and put them in my wallet.

There are no LQS's near me...Marietta is the closest place. Lots of pretty fabric!

So sorry about your DH. Yours too, Midnight46.

Love all your fabric, especially the prints in the middle. If I can see them enough, I'd say they are Kaffe Fassett's prints and are my favs. All his stuff are bright, beautiful and waiting to be used or just looked at. What a great job you did!!!!!
