I have two twin size comforters that are cream with a gorgeous cream lace all the way around. I don't have twin beds anymore so I was thinking- I would remove the lace down one side of each and sew comforters together. Re-attach lace evenly across bottom and use on my queen bed for this summer. What do you think?
Sounds like a good plan to me. Go for it.

You have my blessings also. As if you needed them!!lol
I think you might end up with extra lace, can you attach it on the top to help cover the center seam.
Or take the lace off the sides of one comforter and cut the second one down the middle. Sew one half of the second to each side of the first one so you have a 3 panel comforter with the seams more to the sides instead of right down the center. Use the lace as needed to even it all up.
Have fun and show us pictures.
Sounds like a good plan to me - though I kind of like the "thirds" idea to balance it out and make the center seam less noticeable. You aren't using them now - either way you go is a step up.
I second the motion on splitting one in half and sewing it to the sides of the other one so that you will not have the seam down the middle.
But I think it is a wonderful idea.
be sure and show us some pictures.
Depending on how far down you want to comforter to fall you might want to take out some of the width. Per the chart I have the queen comforter measures out at 86 x 93 for a short drop. Splitting the twins and adding them will most likely make a much bigger comforter than a queen. Otherwise, sounds like a great idea. This message has been edited. Last edited by: paus4quilts,
I like the idea, and I'm sure you'll make it into something both beautiful and functional. The ladies have surely tossed around some great ideas as food for thought....go for it!

You could make some coordinating shams and add the extra lace. Let us see pics when you get it done!

Been there, done that! Only, I used two beige twin size on a king size. Didn't bother to attach them together just sort of overlapped them and, guess what? that might work if you didn't move. They tended to gap apart in the middle. It wasn't as nutty and idea as it sounds. I thought twins would be so much easier to launder than a whole king.
They are yours so you can do what every you want with them! Chris
