Just wanted to give a heads up for the new QWL challenge coming up Jan 1,2013 thru March 31,2013. As most of you know about QWL I hope you will be able to answer any questions for the newbie. Our blocks are 12.5 inches in size. You can use any pattern and color of fabrics, but please please use cotton fabric. No Christmas or holiday fabrics please.
There are several already working on blocks now for Jan. Many thanks to all of you and also those that have intentions to get some made also. You have until Marc 31 to get the blocks to me. Hugs, MaggieThis message has been edited. Last edited by: MedeMo,
Good to hear from several of you posting and by PMs. You are making a wonderful difference in the lives of our troops. Many many thanks. Jan 1 will roll around very soon. Hugs, Maggie
Found the hourglass blocks I already made - have to trim them to size. Then when I find out what size they turned out to be... still have to find the focus fabric for in-between. I found the 1/2 yard I saw and picked up in case I needed extra, but not the original yardage. It's in here somewhere.

Many thanks for bringing this to the top again. NOW IS THE TIME!!! The challenge has started. Several are very excited to be doing a challenge again. Now to see just from where the blocks will all come in from for QWL and the troops. Good luck to all states. Machine engines are running now and will soon be warming and hugging many serving troops. Please be sure to read the needed size of the blocks which is 12.5 and the size of a top which is 56x84 inches in size. And we quilt on...... Hugs, Maggie
Maggie maybe they should just send to Maggie not QWL cause the one time I did that the box totally dissapeared never to be seen again, so I don't put quilts on the label anymore.
I have 1 top done and some ophan blocks for you to fit in somewhere.
Maggie: Helen is like Secretariat. Years ago she asked me how to sew one block. ONE BLOCK. In about 4 months she was 31 lengths ahead of me. It's now MILES ahead...Nancy

Yes Deb use the address above please. Many thanks. Yes Nancy she is lengths ahead all of use and just keeps on sewing. But your work is great also. Appreciate all that QWL receives. So many loving and caring women that keep on sewing for QWL and so many other charities also. All works are appreciated in so many ways. Hugs, Maggie
I have not contributed to your cause in the past but I have some orphan blocks that need a good home. If they are not the right size I will add to them before I send them to you. Some of my orphan blocks are redwork. Is that ok? That might be a problem if you are machine quilting these tops; just let me know. I also have a couple of older tops someone gave to me that I will probably never get put together. So long as they are in good shape and clean does it matter that they may have been made several years ago?

Hi headielamar, Yes, redwork blocks are fine. We have used several in the past, and yes to the older tops. Clean and in good shape will work great. Thanks so much for asking and helping. Hugs, Maggie
Thanks Maggie I will get some items out to you by the end of the month. I have a brother and a nephew who are both career military. They were both in Afgan*stan and Ir*q after 9-11. Thankfully my brother is now retired and my nephew is stationed in the states.

DJBrown your quilt arrive today by mail. Many thanks for your beautiful handquilted quilt to the QWL for the serving men and women. It took a little longer to arrive because of wrong zipcode, Be sure you put 65738 ladies and packages should arrive faster. Many thanks. Maggie
