My favorite batting is Warm and Natural but for some quilts I use a poly. The roll that I just opened is very wrinkled so I decided to try something that a friend told me about. I spread the batting on my carpeted living room floor. Than I spritzed it good with water. Last step is to gently pull on all the sides to remove the wrinkles. The carpet keeps it from drawing back up. Now it is as smooth as can be and will dry fairly quickly with the ceiling fan blowing on it.
• • • I've never bothered to de-wrinkle unless it's really bad. Thanks for the tip, but I'm sure Dan would not appreciate having to walk around it. We don't have a ceiling fan, but I suppose a regular one would help dry it faster too.
Mary Lou, I also wanted to thank you for the little package received yesterday. I told you "you didn't have to", but I thank you for doing it anyway. Glad I was able to help out.

Life without quilting is not an option! • • • • • MY Photos • • • • • • ENJOY!
I toss my W&N batting in the dryer on WRINKLE RELEASE [air fluff] for about 10 min and they turn out great...never tried it w/ polyester batting though.

I've had good luck with cotton batting in the dryer but not with polyester. This method is the best I've found. Thank goodness we have a separate family room and so the living room gets used mostly for quilting.
I learner or heard somewhere that you were supposed to take the batting out of the package (spreading it out) and let it "rest" (think that was the term) for several days before using.
