I think we need more details! I am assuming the ribbon was a first place, but isn't the rosette for a bigger award? Congratulations on both - your work is always amazing! Susan

Congratulations! I would love to see more of the quilts, I am sure you have shown them but I need a memory refressher, lol!
Thank you all for your comments. Brandy, here are some other pics. This is my R/W/B DWR that took Sweepstakes. I had this one appraised and for replacement value it is $2,750. My cats aren't allowed to lay on it anymore. LOL!This message has been edited. Last edited by: indycatCarol,

Wow - Sweepstakes and Champion - Congratulations!! I remembered the DWR and am so glad to see it again. How did I miss Northern Light the first time? Beautiful.

LOL, Pam, I'll have to make 7 little quilts because I have 7 cats.
When I picked up the quilts today at the Fair I asked one lady what the different ribbons meant. I also realized I also had a Champion ribbon on the DWR. Anyway, she said I got Champion ribbon for the Bed Quilt category,(DWR) and a Champion ribbon for the Wall Hanging category (Northern Lights) and Sweepstakes for the DWR because it was the best of ALL the quilting categories. I also got a $10 gift that my local quilt guild gives each year to the Sweepstakes winner.
Then today one lady that I've quilted a half dozen quilts for sent me this message....
Hi Carol…..
First…CONGRATULATIONS on your Sweepstakes for your beautiful quilt at the Howard County 4-H fair. Great job/beautiful work.
Now, for the next thing that should make you feel good. About 3 years ago you quilted a turquoise and silver grey square quilt for me. It had symbols on it pertaining to my collegiate sorority. It was in our last (Kokomo) quilt show. And it was displayed at our (ZTA) local (Kokomo) 40th anniversary celebration. Then this summer it was featured at the national (ZTA) convention in Louisville, KY. And today I received our quarterly magazine…..there was an article on the page that discussed archives of the sorority. There was a picture of one small part of the quilt on that page. In the article it explained that an artifact didn’t need to be old to qualify for a place in the archive room at the national headquarters in Indianapolis, IN. So…….that is where the quilt will be housed/hung – for all time. Amazing, huh?!!!! You are part of history – me, too. Nice. Susie
I remember her quilt but I can't find a pic of it now.
Patch,m I have no idea what the encore will be. Just about the time I think I'll have time to make a quilt for ME, I get more customer quilts. Today I'm delivering 1 quilt and picking up 2 more. Quiltzilla, no, it is not an original pattern. It is just a 1600 jelly roll quilt with white squares added between each strip. On the remarks from the "judge" she said she enjoyed the quilting design on such a contemporary quilt. This message has been edited. Last edited by: indycatCarol,
