Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!!!!!!!! and the dish set!! Enjoy many wonderful meals on it my friend!
Congrats Patsy! The day will go by faster than you think.
What a sweet, sweet thing for your co-workers and friends to do for you. Now -- use the stuff every day and enjoy it with a smile!!
Congratulations on the retirement. May you find lots of joy and fun stuff to do.
Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.
Congratulations!!! I know you felt this day would never get here, but it's now arrived and you will be so surprised at how the coming days and weeks go.
If I'd known you'd yearned for those dishes, I could have set you up. One of my favorite aunts told me she had some dishes she wants me to help her sell...I think your pattern may be what she called them.
Now, get yourself a calender...cause you're gonna find yourself wondering what day it is.
WELCOME to the best job you'll ever have!!!!
If life hands you scraps make quilts
Welcome to the Retired. It sure is fun. And what a thoughtful gift. I agree with FFG - use it every day and enjoy it!
Congratulations! What are you going to do with yourself now???
“May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.”
Congratulations! I never expected to enjoy retirement but I LOVE it! One reason is that I have two days a month that I invite my ex-coworkers to my house. We eat an easy meal and play a game. After knowing most of them for 30 years I wanted to continue to see them. I also joined several other groups and am much more social than I was before I retired. You must have very special relationship since they got you such an amazing gift. I'm sure you'll think about them everytime you use it.
Congratulations, Patsy! Enjoy your retirement starting with the New Year and many years to come. Now, what are you waiting for ?!?, pack your bag and head to Disneyland!!
Enjoy your new dinnerware! What a sweet gift from your co-workers. Maybe there is time for a tea party before the fun at Disneyland begins.
Evelyn i have worked with these folks for 25yrs. they have been thru the marriage of my kids, the birth of my grandkids, the death of my parents and brother. they have been by my side thru all this and i love them all.
I'm so happy for you that this day has arrived! And what a super gift they are sending you off with! Relax and enjoy!!!!
Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine...

Congratulations, Patsy! I love that pattern, and I'm like you — too cheap to buy it. If I ever get a permanent job, perhaps I should start hinting that I really, really like them.
That was very sweet of them to listen to you and get you exactly what you wanted. Every time you use them you will think fondly of your co-workers (and hopefully forget those not-so-good days that all work seems to generate).
"Laughter is timeless; imagination has no age, and dreams are forever." Walt Disney
That's what makes them "family", isn't it? Congratulations on this next journey. From my experience, you're going to love it!
Patsy, just think that tomorrow or the next day when ever you would have had to go to work you can set your alarm clock to the usual time and when it go off you can turn it off and roll over and go back to sleep. Than after that through the clock out the window, and start your retirement. Happy retirement and Happy New Year.
i use my cellphone alarm to wake me up but the first thing i did this morning when the alarm went off is that i turned it off so it will never wake me up at 7am again LOL
Enjoy retirement. Your last day will fly by and soon it will be time to punch out for the last time. Have a great 2013. Patty J & Sister Sue
You go girl. Told you this day would be here before you knew it!
How wonderful of your coworkers to get you the china... Chris
I know the dishes! DM bought from the factory and sold them in her antique/collectible booth spaces. I have a cup, saucer, and dessert plate myself.
Does this hat make my butt look big?
I know the wonderful feeling of retirement & now I know the wonderful feeling of working part time. I retired in 2009 & went back in 2010 part time (3 days a week) & I'm loving that.
Today we just celebrated the retirement of a co-worker who has worked for our company for 41 years. He is very special & will be missed.
Congratulations & enjoy your time away from work.
We live in the home of the free...because of the brave.
Is this your new pattern? We'll all grab a cup and have a tea party along with you .
Our lives are like quilts - bits and pieces, joy and sorrow, stitched with love.
Congratulations!! You made it!!! WooHoo!!!
my philosophy: there are no real mistakes in quilting, just design opportunities!!
Oh yes! Just let us know when to raise a cuppa...Mine will definitely be a cup of Earl Grey. Perhaps I can find a "biscuit" to go on the dessert plate.
Does this hat make my butt look big?
WOOT!!WOOT!!!! good for you...boy if that is the dish pattern it is beau-ti-fullllllllllllllll
The day has finally come!! So very happy for you, enjoy all!
congratulations! Let the sewing begin.
Congratulations, Califgal. I know you will be having lots of fun. I like the Dalton patterns too. Pat
Congratulations! Life begins! I've been retired for nearly 10 years, and there is never a dull moment! You're going to love it!

"I know how you turn a blanket into a quilt, Mom. You add some love to it." ~ J., 7/08, age 7
Yes Lisa that's it, ain't it purty
couldn't happen to a nicer person, the dishes are gorgeous, what a beautiful table it will set - looking forward to spending time with you, a retirement well deserved
Welcome to the ranks of the retired! Just a suggestion: take a few months to just acclimate yourself to not having to get up and get to work. During that time, you can make your plans for how you're going to organize your sewing room/area, what quilts you're going to do, what fabrics you still need in your stash, etc. Then just go with the flow, and remember, if you don't get what you planned done today, there's always tomorrow.
Congratulations. Happy quilting.
It's beautiful - what a wonderfully touching gift. Enjoy your retirement!! I'm told you'll be busier than ever
Congratulations Patsy on both your retirement and on your choice of thoughtful co-workers and their gift!
it;s officially, i am RETIRED!!!!!!! i'M DONE!!!!
Yeeeeeeeea Patsy! Now you are going to find out that you are going to be busier than ever and will soon be saying "I don't know how I ever found time to work" I'm so very happy for you that your big day has finally arrived!
Woo Hoo! Enjoy, and sleep in tomorrow you have earned it
Congrats on retiring! Enjoy filling the time with all the things you want to do.
well this is my first day of retirement and i went to the flea market this morning, then i went to 5 thrift stores. i think i'm gonna like this retirement thingy ALOT!!!!!
Congrats! I'm a few years off, since we have 2 DD's to send to college first. Enjoy that time to slow down and create. Woohoo!
Congratulations and enjoy those dishes every day!
Congratulations on your retirement! You will wonder how you ever had any time to do anything, and the days fly by when you retire! It's the best thing I ever did!
This set looks like the same one my DIL has and it's made by Royal Albert. She inherited it from her GM. If you want additional plates, etc. or an item you don't have, check Ebay. There's a lot of Country Rose pieces on there.
i ordered the teapot , cream and sugar bowl the other day. can't wait to get it. i have loved this dinnerware forever.
Thisis really OT but my husbands grandmother worked for Syracuse China and she made her own china......
Patsy, I am with Nickie, I dont know how I ever had time to work. I turn around and the day is gone.
Enjoy your china, use it, dont put it away for special occasions, make every day count and like lindaj52 says, there is always tomorrow.
Live Love and Laugh!!!!!!!
Congrats to you again....how thoughtful is that present!! I've enjoyed reading the suggestions so far given to you on the board...and congrats also me!! I'm still trying to process this, as my decision was made last minute...my last day of work, 12/30, fell in my work schedule just before my "off days"...so I've missed a couple days of work so far, welllll, not missed it at all!! I am getting up in the morning, to take gks to school but then my days are mine!!! I've already dropped in on one of the charity quilt groups I'm involved in, to start getting more involved. I'm still trying to catch my breath!
