I think my most used notion/tool has to be my seam ripper. Smile

And a large artist's paint brush to clean all the fuzzies from the bobbin area.

When in doubt, do the friendliest thing.

My SS sent me a magnetized bowl that she got from the hardware store - the fancy ones are available at JA's - but this one is much stronger and keeps all my pins together.

A piece of scrap batting works great as an eraser when you use chalk and make a mistake marking quilt tops.

I fill the Snuggle fabric softener jug with water (after rinsing it out) for filling my iron. It has a slight scent but it doesn't hurt my iron. I also use the febreeze refill jugs for water.

If you didn't know how old you were, would you worry about how old you are?

Next to the seam ripper (sigh) is a pair of needle-nose tweezers for grasping the little threads after I've ripped. My poor arthritic fingers just don't pull those threads like they used to.

The thing that I use most is the sticky backed 44 inch ruler that I attached along the edge of my worktable. No need to pull out a rule to measure something. It's right there attached to the table.

Great idea using a fabric softener bottle with a pour spout for adding water to the iron. Much better than the gallon water bottle I use. Will need to save one when I have a small one.

Owie, isn't that just the best thing ever made? Don't know how I got along without it. Hate it when it gets cover up under the fabric and I have to use the 60 inch one... Chris

Quilts"R"fun, I like your idea of the fabric softener bottle, I will use it when I get my bottle empty. I like to use a fishing tackle box for all my sewing machine things, screwers, brushes, nipers, needles, twizers that sort of things. I'm looking for a larger one. I use a very large one for my cake decorating equipment.

Tip on the softener bottle....When you fill the softener bottle, don't fill it up all the way. It makes a mess when you do. Once you fill it too full, you'll see what I mean when you fill your iron.
