Now did that title get your attention? We've been eating & squeezing Texas Sweet Oranges all winter & I recently thought about that orange colored nylon mesh on the back of the orange bag. You know, the stuff that is an open weave to keep the oranges from sweating in the bag & going bad. Well, I started cutting off the little mesh thinking I could make someting from it. (I have 14 pieces right now) So my question to you is....what can I make from it? Here's a pic of what I'm talking about. The netting is about 8" x 8".This message has been edited. Now that's cute but remember, the pieces are only 8" square. I'm wondering if I should make something for SavedSinnr out of them since they are ORANGE!

Maybe trim the corners to make them more or less circular - use a tapestry needle and sturdy thread to gather the edges (similar to the way yo yos are made) - maybe pass the thread thru the center of the "yo-yo" and then start gathering another piece - etc..... To make a scrubby of sorts???

Great idea Bozie. I tried crocheting a scrubbie this week & it turned out way to small...about the size of a silver dollar. I think my stitches were to tight. You'd think I was tense or something!

It's a shame to have to cut them up because the designs are so cute. But if you want the netting for scrubbies you can cut it this way. I've done it with plastic bags to get plarn to crochet a bag. This message has been edited. Last edited by: EvelynB,
You could do a little bit of recycling and use the bags to gather your loose vegetables at the store instead of getting one of the store's plastic bags. Which you'll throw away when you get home.
I've kept several bags such as those for just that reason. They stay in my grocery totes. If it get messy for some reason, I just rinse it out and let it dry.
