Any suggestions on quilt block??? Sign In/Join

Every year I help make a quilt for a raffle for my nephew's memorial fund. The next one will be a sampler quilt with the blocks representing family members. I need an idea to use for "my" block . . . something with Aunt or Mary in the name would be good or something related to me being a math teacher. Anyone have a suggestion for me?

So, Mary Lou, I went to the Quilter's Cache and did some perusing for you. How about this one: http://www.quilterscache.com/A...ysDblIrishBlock.html

I couldn't believe that I actually found one named "Aunt Mary". Just a suggestion.

Block Base shows an "Aunt Mary's Favorite" with a date of 1938.

Also on Quilters' Cache, there's one called "Geometry"; also "Many Triangles"; and its not quite so obvious but "Pintangles" is neat;

I knew I could count on my friends here to come up with some good ideas! Thank you so much for seeing things that I missed and taking the time to share. Now my problem will be which to choose.

Here are some of my choices for other family members: Grandmother's Fan, Corn and Beans (nephew's grandpa who loved to plant corn and beans in his garden), Illinois (where almost all the family live), Boy's Nonsense (represents boy cousins who played together as kids), Friendship Star (his best friend), Army Star (nephew's Dad as well as nephew himself), and Clay's choice (cousin named Clay).
