(Rats! I'm out of colored ink - put a new black cartridge in but the printer has gotten fussy - won't even print in just black so I won't be downloading my October pattern until my new ink arrives.)

I've downloaded the pattern and printed it. Now to pick the fabrics for this bird.

I printed off mine but I have a lot of catching up to do since last spring.

Well, the pattern is downloaded. That's progress, right??

I have my pattern all printed. Now to pick out the fabrics. I love these blocks. It has been so much fun seeing them come alive every month. thanks for starting this Lois.

Here's my October bird

OMG, Anael, I love that green tail feather... the one with the eyes. Now this chick can see what's sneaking up on her. LOL Good job.

By the way, I have the first 6 blocks sewn together with the sashing and corner stones. I used it as my "Show and Tell" at the COF retreat in Branson.

That's really cute! Mine is going to be late this month, unfortunately! Hopefully I can get it done before the end of the month, but not sure.

If you go to the thread about pic's from the retreat, on page 2 DJbrown has added a photo she took of me and my 6 chicks. My poor little May chickie looks anemic... I used a white fabric for her body and she doesn't stand out from the background like her sisters do.

Anael7621 - just read that you "don't have retreats like that here".... hmmm, why don't you think about creating a small one, and see what happens??? Then, you just might be having 'retreats like you wouldn't believe!!' right there at home!!!

Just a thought!! If it can happen here - it can happen there - it just needs someone to "make it so" - or "sew" - it's up to you!!! Just an idea and an idle thought as I looked at these crazy chickens!! Love these blks!!! Always bring a smile to my face - they are so much fun!!!!

My October block. Love all the other blocks. Anael, I liked your eye fabric so much that I went searching in my stash and found some peacock fabric I love and put that on my chick.

And here's another cutie!

Think I'll have to bring my chicks to Odenville to catch up...still running behind. Working on baby blankets and christening gown is next....before I can get back to MY stuff.

Not sure what the grease/wet spot looking things are on this picture - it's not there in person, strange! Anyway, love these chickens! Going to start putting my blocks together this week!

I'm cutting the border strips. Only lack one and then I can stitch them on all the background squares for the months I've missed and the remainder of the year. I'm trying to be scrappy and not use many of the same strip but I can't remember what I've used on the other ones! Anyway, its progress, and then I'll be on to the actual chickens themselves. Hopefully, I'll have at least one or two done before the end of the month.

I am almost caught up...behind by 5. Have them all cut in piles, just have to iron and sew...will do by end of month.....will do...I will do...

here is the Oct chick have to add the border, my computer has been down just got it back this morning, i'm sure I will only have it about another hour as the wind is getting strong

well i downloaded the #11 block. and as i read the instructions i see that it is applique. well i have never appliqued so i am gonna try block #11 and see if i can do it. i went to youtube and found a "how to video". if i can teach myself i would love to do this quilt. lets see what happens, gonna work on it this weekend.

Ladies all your blocks are so dang cute. see what ya'll did. u once again have inspired me to try something new. ty ty ty
