Sew & Tell is our weekly sharing thread. Tell us what you've finished, what you're working on, what you're planning. If you want to share, we're here to cheer you on! We love to hear from everyone! Don't be shy, jump right in!

• • • Good Morning Everyone!!

While Holly is off having fun at Disney with the grands, I will be hosting this week of Sew & Tell.

I've made progress on the baby quilt. The layout is all figured out, but I haven't determined exactly how much background fabric I need. I think I am going to be running short. I checked the Super Joann's last night and they don't have it. Frown There is another Joann's I go to regularly but it is a 30 minute drive, so I won't be able to get there until Tuesday night (when I am in the neighborhood). If anyone is going (DON'T make a special trip) would you pick up two yards for me? It's a Debbie Mumm baby fabric. Light blue background with raindrops. Here is a coupon if you need one. Just let me know if you were able to find it and I'll get a check off to you on Monday. Thanks so much!

I'm really excited to start working on this today because last night I FINALLY went and got my eyes examined. Yup, there was a change and now I have new contacts that allow me to see 20/20 again. Wow! what a difference. The Doc gave me a few options which included bifocal lenses. I say, "How does that work?" He responds with the center portion of the lens is for distance and the edges are for reading. They will adjust when you look down to read. I thought, cool, I'll give them a try. So far so good, and the price isn't too much more. I just hope they'll be as wonderful when I start sewing. We'll see (no pun intended) in a little bit.

This is just a friendly reminder to go have your eyes re-examined if you think your vision isn't what it should be. Because of the gradual change we never realize how much they are off. You will be amazed, like me every time I get around to it, how much clearer everything is.

Okay, back to the Sew & Tell, here's the top portion of my top.

Let's see all those photos Ladies and Happy Sewing Today!

Glad you are able to see a lot better and love that quilt. The blocks are really unique.

I finished the landscape wh top and now I've put it in the 'awaiting quilting' pile.

I also had started cutting out pieces for my 7th feathered star block some weeks ago but needed to cut out those 56 HSTs and did so, then completed it. The fabrics are from friends on the board...the center is from wiley, the 8 spokes are from Kay-lin with their lovely gold leaf, the HSTs from my Big SS of last year MelindaMG and the diamond points from Jul-Wing. Its 19 inches. I consider it my autumn block.

What with spending time taking Mom to specialist and staying with her after a procedure that required anesthetic, I didn't get much sewing done this week. However, while at her house, I did put together a few of her double wedding ring blocks that she had finished. I also spent most of Tuesday at my guild work day and made quite a few arcs for my DWR that might get done sometime within the next year!

Well here's what I'm doing this week...
Still quilting on the "entwined border" lap quilt. Also quilting on the four patch posie with the coordinating border material I showed last week.
And here's what I've made up for my new job teaching quilting at the Senior Center. I thought I start with something fast and easy so as to have some things ready for the Christmas Fair on December 10th. And since I am the "Yoyo Queen"....
And then a table centerpice mat. It's about 15"X15"

WOW! Great work everyone!

No sewing this week; I actually had a job interview that I was prepping for. I need to go through my quilting projects and figure out what to work on next. My sister asked for a quilt for Xmas. I don't know that I can get it done by then, but I have been collecting blue and brown batiks for the project and think I finally have enough.

I did take a quilt to my work for a Project Linus drive. It was an older project that came out a bit wonky and I had thought about just tossing it, but after a washing it seemed to be okay. Hopefully it will work for a kid in need.

Great work everyone! I look forward to this thread every week. It encourages me to accomplish something to show! Didn't get much done this week except for these two totes. They're both for me - one for shopping and the other to take in my car - winter emergency stuff (heavy gloves, scarf, earmuffs, etc). I don't always have to wear all this stuff, but I want it with me just in case....

I love seeing what everyone has made, this thread is most inspiring. I finished many things this week. I quilted and got the binding on all 3 of the quilts I made for my siblings for Xmas. Here is 2 of them. I am currently making a Wonky Dogs (GA. bulldawgs) quilt for DGS.

Well, I'm your slug for the week. I got a little CQ done and that's it! I hurt my back getting out of the recliner Monday. Had to work in mucho pain Mon and Tues, come Weds am when I got off I said "that's it-can't do no more!" So, I've spent several days on and off the heating pad. Starting to feel better now. I'm off to watch the Hogs play with DH. Hopefully later this afternoon and tomorrow I'll get something accomplished!!

JRD - the baby quilt is looking awesome! Pretty soon I'll be asking for tips!

I didn't accomplish much for sewing this week - worked a bit on a couple CQ projects but mostly spent a couple days buried in lace and dyes. WOW! The colors sure look bright here but trust me they are really a lot softer looking.

I LOVE everyone's projects!!! Such talent & skill here!

I bought a darling coat for my daughter for $7.00 at a resale shop a while back. It still had the tags on it. The problem was that it was just fleece & it wasn't warm enough for winter. It is made in the swing coat style, so I knew putting a lining in it shouldn't be too difficult. So I bought some Debbie Mumm flannel & washed it a while back. Yesterday made the pattern, cut it out & sewed it together. Now I'm in the process of handsewing it into the coat. It's turning out pretty well. There are a few things I would do differently, but of course hindsight is clear. When dd saw it, she started squealing & jumping & hugging me, saying it is so pretty - so no matter what imperfections there are, she loves it. Wink

Do you remember this pattern from last year? I saved it and decided to make a runner. I still need to sew each ornament together, but this is how mine turned out.

Love the lace and the table runner is too cute. I think I'll make some for My DD's and DS for Xmas. Thanks for the inspiration.

I finished a snuggly size Warm Wishes top (about 50" x 60") using "Seafood" as the focus fabric and pieced a backing from the sandy beach fabric shown in the bottom right corner. This will be another for Q4K quilt when it is finished. Smile

Duh!! Editing to add the pic. Roll Eyes
