November 16 PJ Party - Bottlecap Pin Cushion

These make up quick, are easy and a good project for the crazy quilter. Relax and use your imagination. Have fun.

Supplies:
Bottle cap - milk jug, pill bottle, any bottle cap. I will demo with a milk jug cap.
Felt
Fiberfil
Embroidery floss or pearl cotton - I use pearl cotton (any size)
Scissors, pinking shears (optional)
Marker
Hot Glue (optional)
Embellishment items - ribbon, ric rac, beads, whatever you like.

Here is a photo of some I have made.

What cute, cute pincushion! And I really like those pins. Do you know where I could buy some?

I hope I can make this one. Those are just too cute!!! It seems everytime I try to go to a PJ party something else gets in the way. I'm going to watch out for bottle tops this week.

The pins came from JA. There are also ones with hearts on them. How about a start time of 8:30 ET, 7:30 CT, which makes my time 6:30 MT, and 5:30 PT.

Question - will we be using our sewing machines for this project? It looks like it's mostly hand sewing and embellishing.

P.S. I LOVE needlework!

I was eyeing the milk jugs in my frig this morning. Both (white and chocolate) are getting pretty close to empty. I should have two tops by Friday. One of my medicine bottles only has 2 more days of meds. I can't wait to make some of these pretties.

Love them!! Muggo has one that has a covered elastic threaded through it to keep the pin cushion on a finger. Guess you poke 2 holes in the cap??

No sewing machine needed, just hand sewing and not all that much.
Years ago I made one with the elastic and a top off a liter soda bottle, if I look I probably can find it.

Gathering my supplies for tonight, do we need anything to weight them down so they don't topple over?

STinMT, you did a very good teaching this party. Your instructions were very easy to follow & loved seeing those pictures. Great job!

PS...they are adorable & I think I might try to make one since you have explained each step so well, I think even I might be able to do this.
