DH took me to a country store in Lancaster county, PA named Goodes where there sell a variety of things and fabric. He turned me loose in the fabric section and told me to "knock yourself out". Well.... their normally $2.99 fabric was on sale for $1.89 a yard. Needless to say I knocked myself out for quite awhile. While I was lloking around I noticed some fabric that I recognized and looked at the selvage and it was Christmas fabric from Connecting Threads. They have a lot of name brands---Timeless Treasures, Concord, etc. I saw different colors of what really looked like Moda Marbles but the selvage was cut off. It was really worth the trip. Even at full price their fabric is worth it. I did not even look at the bolts of fabric. These were flat folds. I wish this was a place all you friends could experience. I know everyone talks about Burkholders in Lancaster county and I have never been there but this place is the b o m b. It was totally worth the 33 mile trip.

Owie, Owie, Owie...what are we gonna do with you!?! Glad you had a good trip.

Interesting that they had Connecting Threads fabric for sale...I wonder if CT knows about that? Do you think the flat folds came from her stash?

Owie, I was just in Lancaster County last week but I didn't stop at Goodes. Now I wish I had!! I did go to Zook's, though. That's great shop right there in Inter#course, PA. I'll keep that on the list should we return that direction.

There are 4 shops in PA. I don't know who owns them. There are a lot of Amish workers there. I doubt it if any came from anyone's stash. I think it is all from different distributors. Florida Farm Girl--everyone reves about Burkholders in Lancaster --I have never been there before so I cannot comment on it but do know that Goode's is a good place to shop.

It really lifted my spirits. I really needed that and at that price, I thought I di ed and went to heav en.
DH is doing much better. He must be related to cats. He seems to have nine lives. This is at least the 3rd time I thought I was loosing him and he just pops back. Thank G o d for that.
I would love to take each and everyone of you to Goodes. It is such a fun place to shop. I even enjoyed the kitchen area and I do not like to cook any more. I have a 12 yr old grandson who loves to cook--I would love to take him there and tell him to buy whatever he needed to cook. He would be overjoyed.

Well, how do I get there?? That would be fun!! The idea of being able to buy fabric for less then $10 (try closer to $17...) would be fantastic, to say the least!!!

I am glad you had a great time and now, make sure you enjoy your new fabric friends!!! Wave

Do you have an address for them? My girls and I make a pilgrimage to the Lancaster area every fall to holiday shop- it's 70 miles for us.

I've been to the country store, near kitchen kettle village, but never heard of Goodes.

Thanks!

The one we went to yesterday was in Quarryville. 333 W. 4th st. There is also one in East Earl on Route 23, Ephrata 1686 W. Main St. and Schaefferstown on route 501 N.
I would absoluetly love a COF in Lancaster county, PA. You have no idea what is in store for you in that area. I really think you could visit an interesting place every day for a month and still not take in all the sites it has to offer. My other grandchildren will visit for a week this summer and I want to take them to this store. What a place to visit.

Oh, heck!!! I DID go into the one at Earl, but didn't go over and look at any of the fabric, since I'd already done my share at Zooks! Now, I wish I had!!!I recognized the building when I looked at the locations on the website. I'll know better if and when I go through there again.
