I have had Mom's machine for many years since she stopped sewing. During the holidays my sister came up with the sales receipt for this machine. It was a Conditional Sales Contract where she had provided the names & addresses of FOUR relatives, TWO references, her employer, and lastly, her landlord! Her auto license plate # is on there too!!!!! Where's the thumbprint LOL !!

Purchased on January 9, 1953 for $174.00 This included $15.00 for a table. I remember the table well but we no longer have it. The receipt is a nice thing to have with the machine.

Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine...

That's an interesting piece of history to go with your Mom's machine. How cool that the receipt was found!

Wow! What a neat thing to have... You should definitely take steps to preserve it to pass down to future generations with the machine. Smile

If you have anything your mother made, you need to drape it by the machine and take a photo. Then frame it along with the contract and hang that in your sewing room!

That's a good idea Sherry! I will have to see if I can find a picture of something I know she made. I can see her sitting at that machine when she told me my youngest brother was due into the family...
