Well, it was the quilt show that I DREAMED ABOUT last night....

I had entered some sort of small wall-hanging. I got excited when I saw the judges pinning something to it at the awarding of ribbons. When I got a closer look, I found that it was a green ribbon...and that green ribbons were given to anyone who participated but didn't win a higher ribbon.

I was bummed & glad that the show was over. I was ready to take down my quilt and go home. I don't even remember what the quilt looked like. Just as well -- probably not one I'd like to make "in real life." Sometimes I dream about things so gorgeous that I have to sketch them when I wake up. Other times, it's just a frustrating dream where nothing goes well.

Ever dream about quilts?

Hmmmm, maybe "green" means go. AS in go on quilting!!

Next time dream up so new judges.

Oh how funny!!! I DID dream something last night...I'd forgotten! I was decorating a small apartment bathroom and making curtains. 1/2 through it occured to me that my roomates might not like the colors. I said, "Oh well", and kept sewing. Woke up when I couldn't figure out how to put them up...or reach the top...minor details...hahahahah!

A couple of years ago I went to a real quilt show. One category only had three entrants. The judge awarded one a third place ribbon and didn't give out 1st or 2nd place ribbons! We were all shocked. That meant she wasn't comparing the quilts against each other. Using that logic some categories should have had multiple blue & red ribbons. Her comments on each quilt were thought provoking too.

LOL - The judges in my dream were fellow Guild members. Guess they told me!

One time I dreamed about pincushions made out of old china. That was a worthwhile & inspiring dream, and now I use my old tea cup homemade pincushion all the time.
