I don't consider myself a quilter by any means, but this little baby blanket/quilt was so easy to do and I whipped it out in 3 hours flat.

Cute and easy!!!! I'd forgotten about that satin binding stuff. So soft! I actually need some to repair an existing blanket.

Welcome to the board. Your blog is cute. Smile

That's very cute and you were smart to pick out a simple design to start learning to quilt.

You have done a nice job with it!

My DD's favorite blankie had satin binding sand when she was tired she'd rub it gently on her cheeks. So soothing especially with her thumb in her mouth. I need to buy some when it's on sale. Babies do live satin. The last time I used it was for lap quilts for Alzheimer's patients. Their lap robes need a variety of textures to sooth them too.

My little granddaughter, Emmy, also wore off the satin binding on her blankie, rubbing and sucking her thumb, too. I got the pleasure of replacing it and at 9 1/2, she still has it--probably still rubs it between her fingers and on her cheek. Smile I wonder if she still s u c k s her thumb? (Didn't know that was a bad word!)
