DBs DGS (DBs stepDs son) has a severe problem. As a wee tot he was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. He was in high school while I was subbing. Sweet, sweet kid.
Recently, he's had some horrendous headaches and missed work at the grocery store. When he had some blood coming from an ear, he was rushed to the hospital.
After tests, they still don't know exactly what's wrong. The guesses at this point are a tumor in his brain but it's more likely a problem with the bone. He was sent home later today with some heavy meds for the weekend. The neurosurgeon will see him Monday. It sounds as if he's going to have to have surgery before they know what's happening.
Please remember this young man and our family in your prayers. This message has been edited. Last edited by: KeepYouInStitches,

Sending comforting prayers your way. Did they do an MRI and/or MRA? So hard to wait while someone is in pain.

I understand an MRI yesterday and a CAT scan today. But I could be wrong. I had two pieces of shocking news yesterday and don't remember half the details of either.
The other news...one of the county commissioners asked me how my DbabyBs eye was. Huh? Seems he was working in his shop, reached for something, something popped off the air wrench and hit him in his eye. I was gobsmacked! Totally shocked.
So I went to see DB yesterday after work. He's pretty much healed. Whatever it was hit him dead center of his pupil at an angle, scooted under the cornea. Shudder. He said his eyelid was turned to the inside and it just about kil-led him until he could get it straightened out. He also pulled the object out and thought *&^%$#. He did not puncture the eye. Extremely lucky! He is looking through scar tissue in that eye and can't make out anything - it's all blurry. He also feels as if there's still something in the eye - it's the scar tissue and will take awhile to get used to it. The doctor told him that the sight may gradually improve, but probably not by much.
Sherry, I will be saying prayers and keeping the dear boy and everyone in thoughts. That is awful what happened to our DB and will keep him in thoughts also.
Oh, my gracious, girl. I'm so sorry to hear all this bad stuff. Hope DLB's eye heals and he recovers his sight. And, I sure hope the young man gets the right care so he can recover. Thoughts and prayers coming toward Texas.

Here's Keagan. He's a big sports fan. While still in high school, he was manager of the football team.
Hoping the next news you hear will be good news. He looks so happy & healthy on that picture, hope all goes well for him.

Keep praying girls....my neice 20 has throat cancer and she has had two operations to remove tumors....chemo and radiation...her radiation required that she have these optic like threads sewn through the bottom of jaw and up through her tounge where they stayed for a week with a trip to have radiation twice a day...
She had really suffered and I worry so much about her mom.... GOOD NEWS IS THAT HER LAST PET SCAN SHOWED NO NEW CANCEROUS TUMORS....THE DOCTOR SAID IT IS A MIRACLE....
AMEN TO THAT......

Michelle - As you said, AMEN TO THAT!
My 1st DH was in Baylor - 1st class facility with 1st class personnel who go above and beyond in the treatment of their patients. DH had nurses pulling double shifts to take care of him...

Oh my - the nasties just keep hitting people you love. My stomach didn't much like the vision of the eye accident. He's going to go a little nuts until he gets used to the scar tissue. LOTS of drops to ease it somewhat I'm guessing. Hopefully at least some of his vision will be restored. My uncle lost an eye many years ago when he got hit with a baseball while playing....he was always messing with the kids with the glass eye...not thats ewwww!
