LQS around Joliet area? Sign In/Join

I will admit to copying jslady, idea of asking for shop names in a particular area in which she will be soon: Have been away over 20 yrs. Need help in finding LQS anywhere within 50 miles of Joliet, IL. Spent all afternoon seeking, going the wrong way, etc., only to wind up coming back home disappointed.
I know they are out there. Help.
Thanks in advance, nuquiltr.

DD lives in Ottawa so I am slightly acquainted with the area. There is a quilt shop in Morris (The Fabric Center) and one in Oswego (Prairie Stitches) - I like both. I think they would be within your range. Another one I liked is Quilters Garden in Princeton, which is probably farther from you than you would want to drive. There was a really nice one in Peru but it recently closed.

Thank You,

Thank You X three. This list was so helpful
nlk. And pvilleLou, also. Have checked on a few. Am looking for template half Sq. Triangle from Mo. Quilts, but to order it
would cost as much in S&H. So I would rather buy locally if possible and Christmas is getting so close. Thanks again.

I live in the area, and here are the shops I enjoy...
Countryside Village in Braidwood IL ( right off I55) has a great quilt store and crafts galore.
Thimbles in Lockport, great bunch of gals
Roberts Sewing Center Crest Hill IL Very large store
Top Shelf Quilts in Frankfort IL, cute store.

You can also just pop up 355 from Joliet and stop at quilt shops in Hinsdale and naperville. My favorite is in Elmhurst which is right off of 294 at York Road - easy peasy to find. Nice selection of fabrics, patterns and books....and the staff is awesome!

I haven't been to any of the others, but when I lived in the South Suburbs, Top Shelf Quilts in Frankfort was one of my most favorite places to shop. I love the atmosphere there, and the folks who run the place our very helpful.

Also, if you want to come this far east, there is the B&J Sewing Center in Bourbonnais. Good group of folks there who are really helpful and knowledgeable. The address is 615 S. Main St. (also known as Kennedy Drive).
