| Holy hannah!!!! Terrific that they alerted you.
I don't have an account with them so maybe I don't have a problem? I always buy as a guest. |

| I got the same letter and my credit card was used, fortunately the credit card company caught the transaction which was being made in India |
| | |

| My credit card number was used, and because I had to open a new one, my credit was dinged. Too bad you can't make noted on your credit reports like "I only opened a new account because the old one was compromised!" |

| I got nailed in October, but Visa called right when it was happening and closed my account. A 60.00 one in Feorgia went through, but the 900.00 one in England didn't. I got a new card. Was really surprised to get the letter from Fabric Depot. Glad I found out in October and not March!!! I only bought one yime last year from them. Now I don't let any places keep my number. Really nice letter though.

| Fabric Depots computer system was hacked from about October 16, 2012 through late January 2013 they were aware of it on January 7th. I made a purchased in their store on January 19th and on January 21st. my credit card company called me to find out if I had made a 400.00 dollar purchased in Paris France that day. After getting their letter I will still order from them. This was the 2nd time in the last 6 months that I have had to change my account number with the bank and if it happens again soon I may change my account to a differnt bank. This account is used mostly for fabric purches and on line stuff.

| Oh my gosh!!! I hadn't heard about this from anyone in my quilt group and I KNOW we all shop there--I don't remember when I last used my card there, but it has been awhile. I was there yesterday selling raffle tickets for awhile, but all I bought was a pkg of chanille needles & using my 35% coupon, I spent $1.06!! That's a first!!!

| I got the snail mail letter. My credit union (Visa card from there was investigating from their end. I had to give them the information about what had been compromised. They had a third party watch dog group monitoring it.

| I think they are being very generous offering the 30% discount on the next online order and a free gift of the fat quarter bundle and a $10 gift card but it is still a pain in the butt to have to close your credit card and open a new one to say nothing of the inconvenience of having to wait for the new one to arrive. I did order more fabric in February and hopefully the hacking problem had been solved by then |

| I got a call from my credit card company in Jan.they noticed a charge at a Walmart at 3am 1 day and at 4am the next and then some foreign airline, none were mine so I did not have to pay, but it makes me mad to think that the card company has to eat those charges, that's why the charges keep going up.
I had 2 charges on my Paypal acct.from ebay customers, I contacted paypal and they went after both the buyer and seller, now I wish that I would have kept up with paypal to see what they did to them.but with all the privacy laws that are out there I probably would not have been able to get any information.I was just happy at the time that they took the charges off.

| Both my Credit Union and Paypal have been hacked. I've gotten paypal phishing (?) notices since 2007 when I closed the account. That number is still out there. Those notices looked so real, I just couldn't tell official from junk, so I closed it. All of the accounts at the Credit Union had to be replaced. So they were really on it for this one. Only took a couple of days for me to get the new card. My only hassle is having to learn the new number. Ugh. Had the other one memorized.

| My credit card was used, but the credit company caught it and called me. They credited the two charges that had been approved, but had rejected three others. I hadn't used that card in quite a while, but now I know how they got the info.
And yes, paypal can be hacked, too. Someone tried to transfer most of my balance to some bank I'd never heard of. I ended up closing my paypal account, because that was the second time it had been hacked. grrrrrr |

| When you get a new card because yours expired you do not get a new number. Mine expired a few weeks ago and the new card has the same number. I have only gotten a new number when my card has been compromised. My bank sends me notice everytime I purchase gas or use the atm as those are some of the most frequently used by hackers. I also get notices for online purchases.

| Well, I have the letter now, about the problems with their system. There's been a few items I've been wanting to order, but have been cautious because someone had posted back in January that they're card had been compromised after shopping there. I'd received an order in mid December, and about a week later, our card company stopped a transaction attempt @ a toupe shop in Kentucky! I believe it was a test, since it was for less than 10...if it had gone through tho, who knows what might have happened next? ~karen |

| The computer age!!!! AArrrgggggh. Nothing is sacred.
I've been very lucky over the course of my credit card/debit lifetime. Had a couple of attempts at charging against them but was very fortunate to have an alert bank and got called before the charges were paid.
BTW just in case you do have to change a card, check your account number. I did learn that when new cards are issued, generally, only two numbers are changed. So I guess once you've been stung you still need to be extra sharp in monitoring your accounts. It doesn't take a computer very long to run through a combination of numbers to find an illegally usable account.
Sorry to hear about PayPal. *sigh* |
