yes they help a LOT...,hint cut as you go...cut the center of each square, so when you are done you will have that much less to cut. Even with these shears (depending on the size of the quilt) your hand can get pretty sore. Show us a pic when you get done.

I know which pair you're talking about. I have the smaller spring loaded pair and it really does save on your hands and wrists.

TTT I will look for a photo of these scissors.
They were half off at Jo Anns...They actually have huge handles and small blades like big owl beaks that is the only way I can decribe them.
Will look for a photo.

yes, Michelle - those are wonderful cutters ... just yesterday a gal in my charity group used them for over an hour and she has terribly painful hands, but because they have the big loop to put your hand in and then they pop wide open it takes off a lot of the stress of doing the clipping. GREAt idea about clipping as you go - wish I had done that with those I did!!!

I am currently using my 3rd pair of these rag snips. I know that before I purchased my first rag snips, my hands would only allow me to clip for an hour at a time; 2 1/2 hours max/night. Now with these snips, I am able to clip over 4 hours/day. Good luck and happy sewing.

.... the one called Rag Quilt Snippers - wonderfully easy on the hands - and a great price there! thanks for sharing that - it'll be a help to others, I'm sure.

I have the ones Quilts "R" Fun showed. They are great. However, I recently did a baby rag 52x52 using 6" squares and had to take three nights to clip it and still ended up with a bruise and blister at the base of my thumb.
