Scary times out there. My DB lives on the eastern edge of the Springs. Manitou is on the western edge. I have a son in Walden, which is way up north, almost in Wyoming. Worried about him as he works in the wilderness most of the time. And he is out for a training session for a week, this week. Jackie

My prayers are with everybody that is in or near this MESS. The next worse thing is having a flood and you can't do a thing about it. I sure hope and Pray that all this gets cleared up soon and that everyone is safe. nuquiltr
I'm inbetween. Ft Collins is to the North and there is a huge fire just West of there. A new fire is South of me in Colorado Springs. I'm just North of Denver on the way to Boulder. The planes go over us all day. they land at the small airport near us to re-fill with fire retardant.
i went to school at Ft. Collins when I was little. We lived in Colorado Springs (Pikes Peak centered in our front window). My great Aunt and Uncle lived in Denver....so we went along the highway there all the time. Even though it was a long time ago, I remember it well.
Very frightening....prayers coming your way!!!

Haven't heard from DD in the Springs since Saturday, when she called and said the place she worked was being evacuated and she wondered if she would have a job to go to on Monday. One other DD is in Highlands Ranch outside of Denver, so will be glad when all those fires are over... Chris

They just showed a fire map of Colorado on t.v. and there are 9 fires across the State. four near the Southwest border and four across the middle near Colorado Springs (two East of I-25) and then the one just west of Ft. Collins. NEW, I just took my mama cat out front (she likes to go out, even though a house cat) and boy, could I smell smoke! there is another fire now just outside Boulder. no wonder I can smell the smoke! Almost bedtime now-for some reason i can keep editing this long after i posted. anyway, the wind was horrid earlier. blowing smoke this way too. it's better now but the fire is worse. It's getting dark now and i'm not sure i want to go to bed..... i've lived here 22 yrs and never have had a fire this bad, this close. This message has been edited. Last edited by: native Texan,
What size quilts? Chris did you make standard cases?
I'm praying for all those in harms way. I hope they all evacuate when their told!!!! Not be hard heads-they can't win-fire consumes everything and anything. Makes me sick just thinkng about the devastation.
My Grandma Ferdie lived up there (she's gone now). Her DD & SIL built a log cabin home outside Denver. I think Lou was a Detective or Police Chief in Denver. Their home was featured in the Log Cabin magazine-it was gorgeous! I haven't heard from them in several years. I hope they are ok.
Pam, yes, they are standard size. I make the serger ones. That is the size i make for everything... chrisThis message has been edited. Last edited by: cksvett,
