Do you remember the "Outside the Pizza Box" swap several years ago? That was my first swap with the group.
Well, I was pretty new to the board and didn't really know any of you, however, since I now know many of you I am so thrilled to have my blocks from that first swap put together into this gorgeous quilt! Sadly, three of the blocks that I received didn't make it on to this quilt...two of the blocks were just pieces and not made into blocks and one of the blocks was oversized and I tried but couldn't get it to work out so I ended up using that block in another quilt. I hope I haven't offended anyone but was thrilled to have played with you all and love all of the blocks and pieces I received home!
Thank you all so much!
For this swap we sent out a FQ of fabric with a theme and the swappers were to make blocks for us all using a piece of the FQ and in keeping with the theme. My FQ was the black cornerstones on the quilt with the little colored circles on it. My theme was "circles." I am so thrilled...everyone did such a great job with this theme. I finished quilting it and binding it this morning. I love it and will use it on my couch to keep the cold temps away!
Anyone else have their blocks used in projects to share pix from this swap?
Love it!! I should dig mine out...don't even remember what the theme was (cause I don't remember what the fabric was, I'm sure it will come back to me once I pull out the packet). I had totally forgotten about that swap.

Lindaboomer, do you see your block is the center! It was perfect for the center! What was your theme? Did I make you a block? I know we had more than 12 people so we didn't all work on blocks for everyone. I have to admit I don't really remember who everyone's blocks were...I know McP's and Q's and yours and Wenonah's was the gorgeous oversized one...paperpieced like a sunflower. Would love to know who made the rest...This message has been edited. Last edited by: alexemmarose,
I thought I had just remembered seeing the blocks pictured some time in the past Now I really need to dig out that bag of blocks....I remember shopping for my fabric more than anything else Couldn't decide between two different ones so I bought both and waited fo them to "talk" to me. Don't even remember what my "theme" was...sheesh!! boy am I getting old!!

It looks great, Axel! None of those look familiar, but I have one of your blocks so I know I did one, lol. If nobody else remembers differently I'll claim that pretty applique one in the center of the top row, haha.
I do remember I was working on 3 pizza box swaps at the same time and of the 3, only one set has made it into a quilt! Maybe one day...... This message has been edited. Last edited by: toryam,
Wow! It seems collectively we aren't remembering this swap very well!
Q, yours was the bottom right...you also finished up the upper left with the same orange and cream fabric for whoever's block that was.
I know I did a barn quilt one for you, Q...in fact it was a pieced one (and not very well pieced!) with a weather vane on the center.
Tory, I did do one for you...the face one. I don't think you did one for me though because there were too many in the rotation. I could certainly be wrong here...don't remember things so well anymore...should have written it all down!
Anyhoo, I ,loved the swap...thought it was very creative.
ahhh now I remember.. Mine was barn quilt blocks.. I put those together for a charity quilt a long time ago... Marie gave it to one of the Seniors in her church.
Wow, that's awesome! Isn't it fun to have such treasures? I never feel obligated to use all the blocks from one swap in the same quilt. I've gotten some totally amazing, astounding blocks that deserve a different quilt. One thing about getting those less than perfect blocks is they remind us to do our very best when we sew for others. Getting those gorgeous blocks with perfect points is such a pleasure and joy to put into a quilt. Every swap makes me improve my skills. I love having such great teachers and coaches here.
Yours is very pretty. It feels great to have it finished, doesn't it? Mine was completed this past fall with the theme High Tea in the Afternoon. Even though I prefer coffee to tea, my FQ was so elegant, it reminded me of something fancy like a formal tea setting. Anyway, I love my quilt, especially with the memories of our swap.
Love the quilt. I did not participate but I have gotten to where I make notes and keep in a notebook when I join a swap, I started out doing it just to keep up with deadlines. Now I keep up with all my info on each swap.
Most days I can not remember what I had for breakfast if it is after 12 noon!!!!!
G'mornin', Quiltaholic! I was so curious I went to Stars blog....pics are posted from Nov '12. I couldn't remember my block until I saw a picture of it. Stars, I hope you can post the whole quilt. the colors and quilting are stunning!
I thought I'd already shared it here on the message boards, but couldn't find a reduced photo. Here it is. This message has been edited. Last edited by: SeeingStars,
Notice the real tea bag peeking out of the cup next to the copper kettle. The cup is actually a little pocket. So clever!
Quiltaholic, since our swap was more than 12 people, our rotation was such that we didn't make one for everyone in the swap. I still remember making the barn block for you. It was a challenge, but I had fun picking out the fabrics and piecing it.

Seeing stars...thank you so much for posting pix of your quilt. Your stitching in the borders is really beautiful! I love how everyone interpretted your theme.
