MemeQuilts - wins the 50.00 gift certificate from Stitch and Frame for Block #4!!

www.stitch-n-frame.net

Merry Merry Snowmen Sew Along!!

Pattern designed by Anne Sutton, of Bunny Hill Designs

Merry Merry Snowmen - Size 62 x 66 inches

During the sew along, you will all have a time frame to complete each block. Completed means -- complete -- It does not mean applying fusible to your pieces and ironing them down only. It means adding the stitches around your pieces that anchor them to the blocks. Please play fair.

You will be uploading a photo of your completed block on a pre-selected day here on the forum so we can share with the other members not in the sew along. A Flickr Group has been started for our blocks and you all will be able to upload your photos there as well. Just follow this link to our group and as you upload your photo, you will be added to the group. http://www.flickr.com/groups/merrymerrysnowmen/

Everyone who finishes their blocks by the schedule will be put in to a drawing to win a prize. First name drawn will win the current prize. Some of the prizes have been listed and others will be listed as I know what they will be. I have a few sponsors and un-sponsored monthly prizes will come from the prize kitty.

You can not win the prize more than once in a 3 month period. We still expect you to work on your blocks for the next 2 current months though and share photos just as you had been doing.

At the end when all blocks are finished, everyone will then have a time frame to get their blocks in to quilt top form. A winner will be drawn from all who post their photo by the specified time.

After that everyone will have a time frame to get their quilt finished and bound. Everyone who completes this will be put in a drawing for a much nicer prize and the name drawn will win.

A 12th and final prize will be given to the name drawn from all eligible entries of those who took part 100%. 100% means that you made each block and uploaded a photo of it by each deadline. You were never late and you finished your quilt by the end time permitted.

Here is the schedule I have set up in order for us to have our quilts finished and ready to use for Christmas 2013.

I will start a brand new thread for each installment. PLEASE do not upload any other photos but the current block we are working on. Thank you.

March 1 - March 26 --- Photos of BLOCK #1 are due to post on March 26th by 7 a.m. Eastern time. Prize will be a 25.00 gift certificate from The Fat Quarter Shop. www.fatquartershop.com

March 26 - April 20 --- Photos of BLOCK #2 are due to post on April 20th by 7 a.m. Eastern time. Prize will be a 50.00 gift certificate from Stitch and Frame. www.stitch-n-frame.net

April 20 - May 15 --- Photos of BLOCK #3 are due to post on May 15th by 7 a.m. Eastern time. Prize will be a 50.00 gift certificate from Bunny Hill Designs. http://www.bunnyhilldesigns.com

May 15 - June 8 --- Photos of BLOCK #4 are due to post on June 8th by 7 a.m. Eastern time. Prize will be a 50.00 gift certificate from Stitch and Frame. www.stitch-n-frame.net

June 8 - July 2 --- Photos of BLOCK #5 are due to post on July 2nd by 7 a.m. Eastern time

July 2 - July 26 --- Photos of BLOCK #6 are due to post on July 26th by 7 a.m. Eastern time. Quilts Like Crazy in Wake Forest, NC is our prize sponsor this round. She is gifting (2) 15.00 gift certificates! 2 winners this round! http://quiltslikecrazy.com

July 26 - August 20 --- Photos of BLOCK #7 are due to post on August 20th by 7 a.m. Eastern time. Prize will be a 25.00 gift certificate from The Fat Quarter Shop. www.fatquartershop.com

August 20 - September 14 --- Photos of BLOCK #8 are due to post on September 14th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

September 14 - October 8 --- Photos of BLOCK #9 are due to post on October 8th by 7 a.m. Eastern time. Prize will be a 25.00 gift certificate from The Fat Quarter Shop.
www.fatquartershop.com

October 8 - November 5 --- Photos of completed quilt tops are to be posted on November 5th by 7 a.m. Eastern time. All sashing and borders have been applied and it is ready for quilting!

November 5 - December 7 --- Photos of finished quilts WITH binding are to be posted on December 7th by 7 a.m. Eastern time

Then --- ENJOY your brand new Christmas quilt!

IF you cannot upload photos to the forum you can email me a photo of your block and I can upload it for you. IF you need to do this do not wait until the last minute to email me the photo. ALL emailed photos should be in my inbox the day before they are due. This gives me time to re-size and get them posted on time.

I am using the + symbol for those who are on time each time and the * symbol for those who do finish but not by the deadline. Your + symbols will change to the * symbol if you do not complete one of the rounds on time. This will help me see at a glance who to put in the prize pool for 100% "on time" participation.

For the ones who have not finished blocks we have already been through... Remember, you can still get your name in the pot for 100% participation if you get them finished and post a photo.

There will be 2 - 100% - participation prizes in the end... One for those who were on time every time... and one for everyone who made all of the blocks, and finished their quilt top by the deadline.

So get busy, you have not been left behind. Smile

Here is the thread for posting ALL past blocks as you finish:

Brandy.. Bunny Hill Designs just called and Anne is at quilt market in oregon so your gift certificate will come once she returns. The worker said Anne likes to send gift cards so she can put ribbon and such around it and dress it up real nice. I gave her your address today. let us know when it comes.

Elainetoo... I sent you a pm with your gift code in it from Block 2. I had Stitch & Frame send it to my email so I knew you would get it. They also resent it to yours again but I know for sure you will get it now. They had sent it to you on May 7 but spam must have eaten it. Happy shopping!

Haven't touched the quilt since Odenville, working on other things. And for the past few days, only messing around with the laptop. I have done something to my right hip/leg....and can hardly get up and down these stairs now.

I'm falling apart...one piece at a time!

Hi.. got your message and have ordered some much needed thread and a few yards of fabric. It was hard to choose! Thank you.

Edited to add. great blocks shown so far. Mine is partially done.. way too much 'life' interfering with quilting.. but it's great to be busy.

I finished my block and tried to post a picture from my iphone. It was too big. Can someone give me some instruction on how to post pics from an iphone. How do you resize the photos to work?

BTW my block is different from everyone elses. My tea pot goes the wrong way and my NOEL is on the opposite side. Oh well it still looks so cute. I love these blocks and I want to do them in some other color group.

Love those blocks! Every new one is so fun to see. The blues are so pretty, yhtac. Buns, your block is great and no one but you thinks it "should" have been the other way.

Crazy, your block 2 is great. I really like the stitching you added to the deer, it gives it nice dimension.

My gift card arrived yesterday. I have been prowling the site and think I will order the pattern for Le Jardin. I will be gone all weekend so will decide next week.

I think if you keep the sashing fairly nuetral (or like the blocks), you wouldn't even notice the sashing. Then if you want to do the quilt as you go method, it would work to.

My blocks are done in blue and I was thinking of a narrow light blue sashing. Maybe an inch wide. I laid my blocks out on the bed last night and I think a narrow sashing would set off the blocks so they don't just run together.

The old threads for Block #1 and Block #2 must not be on HGTV's server any longer as they go to the main page of the forums now.

I am going to start a new thread for the older blocks so you all will have a place to put them as you finish. I would like to keep the current thread, for current blocks only.

crazybout.. It is aok that you uploaded here since the other thread was gone.. If you don't mind though please move it to the new thread and delete your post on this one.

I'm glad you posted the old threads...because it also reminded me to go post my Block #4 photo to Flickr. I didn't have a minute to do that when uploading it to HGTV...and "meant" to go back that night and do it.

Since I won the first month's prize...I've been out of the running for 2nd and 3rd month. But, I'm back in the hat this round...so would be mad at myself if I didn't remember to post my photo!

Hugs!

Kathy, hope you are on the mend...nothing worse than hobbling around...been there more than once, and it's misersble to be in pain, my back went out a few weeks ago, and I couldn't sit or stand or lay...I'd get in bed then it'd take me literlly 30 minutes to get out...docs couldn't find anything wrong, it started getting better after I had a few Bowen's (deep tissue manipulation) nearly all better now, but still moving slow...too bad we can't patch ourselves up like we do quilts!
I've finally got a new machine, so can get back on track Smile

I recieved it a few days ago with a nice little bonus, she adjusted the shipping so the entire amount was covered by my gift card! Very nice. The pattern is lovely and I can't wait to dive in.

Finish those blocks ladies! I am dying to see them!
