Oh man...I "got it" from one of my own guild members once at our own little guild show. I had the audacity to flip over my friend's quilt to show my DH the label & the back. Of course, not a White Glover to be seen until I did that, then she swooped in on me & read me the riot act. I told her that (A) it was my friend's quilt (friend wouldn't care), and (B) I had picked out all the fabrics for it, so it may as well be my own quilt! I'd already handled the daylights out of it at a guild meeting before the show. But none of that seemed to matter to the Touch Police. "If someone sees you touching a quilt, then they'll think they can touch one, too." Yes, Mom...and then they'll jump off the roof if they see me doing that, too. Roll Eyes

They could use that woman at Paducah or Houston. She had plenty of practice patrolling our dinky show! Razz

Starry: You'll look good in black and white. It's so shishi...get your chains at Mood and you'll start a trend. You could also wear a sandwich board that says you are an offender and are doing your penance.

My guild wouldn't chain me up. They'd make me serve as pres-i-dent or committee chair. Frown

Pres-i-dent is apparently a trigger word, so if this posts twice, sorry. I'm sooo bad! LOL

Where it shows the pic that says "Fashion Hardware," that entire vertical rack in the middle of the aisle is chain, both sides. Gorgeous chain in every design you could imagine. I'd be honored to wear them, whether or not I had touched a quilt first. Big Grin

Starry - makes you wonder what is going on with people like that...must be compensating for something! I laughed out loud at the punishment your guild would impose! Too funny and probably true! LOL!

Love it - I've been "nailed" even though I caught myself in time - there are just some quilts that cry out to be touched. No one wants to know how I reacted Smile

I wonder if they've ever thought about passing out white glove at the door before letting you into a quilt show? Wink

I 'get' that we have to be respectful of other peoples quilts, but some people do go a bit over board with the 'power'!!!

I have been given a plastic glove upon entering a quilt show, but because of the rules, I just can't let myself touch a quilt at a show! Afraid alarms will go off and the quilt po lice will show up!
