OMG, I am off the board for a few days and all heck breaks loose!!! Getting home from Chr*stmas holiday. Wiped out/tired one day, had to go to a coffee and shop this a.m. So thought I would check in and boy lots of action here

Welcome newbies. Glad to have you in the swap. This is a wonderful board with great people and everyone is willing to help with a problem or question.

Will try to get your questions answered and will update the list.

The last day to sign up is the 9th and I will select partners then and send addresses by PM. KC1930, I think it is reasonable to ask that no one puts buttons or charms as I think everyone wants a flat surface to put their mugs on.

The mug rugs do not have to be heart shaped. The only requirement is that is it a valentine theme. Sentimental if you like, funny if you like, pretty, etc. As Jamauk said, to have creative freedom - so do your da err whatever strikes your fancy.

I am going to update the list now too.

Mary

Hope you join our group, ChocolateMakesItBetter.

Gypsy Jane - welcome to the board! Hang in there - FishingWidow is probably on one of her many excursions and will be back soon to update the list. Looks like we are going to have quite a fun bunch of ladies joining in on this one.

Mary - whatever you are up to I sure hope you are having fun!!! Big Grin

Well, I've got my first mug rug entirely finished. No pictures, but will say that I kept it simple with a little hand applique and hand shadow quilting, which makes the appliqued pieces sort of puff up, but it's still flat enough to use with a cup or glass. For my first attempt at this kind of thing, I think that I did a very good job, if I do say so myself. Wink

Now, I just have to finish the others that I have planned to do. The hardest part of this swap will be choosing which one to send to my partner! Thanks for hosting this, Mary.

Sorry KC, I did update the list. Went to JoAnne's this am and got some valentine fabric. When I checked last nite, I guess I used for PCs what I thought I had.

I'm waiting patiently for a partner - NOT! I've already finished several mug rugs for this challenge and can't wait to find out who I'm going to be swapping with. Huh! I think that this is the first swap that I've done where the item has been ready to go before the close of registration. I love these things.

Hi all,

Tomorrow will be the last day to sign up for the swap and then I will put names in a bowl and select partners and the swap can begin. Looks like many of you have your mug rug finished. I have the fabrics and will probably sew next week.

Will miss you this time selove2quilt, but look forward to the next one.

Anticipation,...
