Thanks for the reminder...it is appreciated!
Loving those owl blocks. It looks like this BOM might be more suitable to hand applique than her previous patterns have been. I know a little grandson that would love this quilt! So, it is on my TO-DO list now.
Thanks for the reminder
Thank you for the link. This second fishy looks kind of m@d...
Love it!!! Can hardly wait to see what my fish end up looking like!!!
I am getting ideas.....
I am saving the fish patterns just because I was sorry I did not get the roosters. Don't know if I will ever actually do them. But those owls!!! Those are a definite. I think I will start that one this weekend.
Thanks for the reminder I have my pattern and now I'm going to look for some fabric.
You can never have too many patterns.
Got the new fishy. Thank you!!!!
Paus- I am glad to know that you are going to make the fish. YEA!!!! Let the fish show continue. I am waiting. Sue
Can't print them here and will have to wait until Monday - drat! Can't wait to get on to the second fish. Think I'll print out the owls too - they are pretty cute.
Oops, the mistake is in the Owl pattern, not the fishy pattern.
Thank you for the reminder. Downloaded both for future work. Oh well, downloaded the angel (fairy) one also. May use a block or town for something.
Thanks, love the owls

fishy #2 is all cut out and adhered to the background...probably will work on my blanket stitch edging during Super Bowl tonight...
Can't wait to see the picture!
Got all my fusible printed up yesterday, fabrics ready. Was gonna cut everything out during the game last night. Well, hang that one up. So after an errand run today, it's back to the fishies among other things quilty today.
Fish #2 is cut out and adhered down. Tomorrow I'll stitch it down and wait for block 3.
Couldn't wait, only took a half hour to stitch down. I see definite improvement in my stitching and ironing down. Maybe by the end I'll be good at this. I like the fish and can't wait to hang this in my basement. Will look so cute with the fish tank.
Only using scraps, so all his fins don't match, but I kind of like it that way.

Little blurry, but not bad. I took the picture with my new phone, emailed it to my husband and downloaded it from his computer. Technology is an amazing thing, isn't it?
Katie- very cute fish. Not everything needs to match. LOL Sue
CUTE!!!!!! And what do mean to point out a different fin??!! Did you not see 'Finding Nemo'??? We do not discuss 'fins' around here!!! Any fishes fin is PERFECT!!! And lets not forget that!
Oh I beg your pardon. Of course I didn't mean to point out his different fin. Must be the Dory in me.
Lynne, love your Feb fishy!! What fun!
Here is my Feb fishy...
Ohhhh, gosh. These are looking way too good. I can see where this BOM is going to go; lotsa pretties!!!!!
Oh my goodness, I just love that fin fabric - you could almost use it for eyes. It must be his disguise! Adorable!
Katie, your fish, your design and his own fins. Mine aren't matching either this time. I didn't have enough of the fabric I just LOVED>
Any more finished fishies floating around out there??
You know the song...."Love is in the air"? Well, it looks as if 'Fishies is in the air'.

ALL.. of your fishes are quite cute!!.. i'm loving all the colour combos..

I got my Mono Poly thread from Superior threads yesterday so I am good to go on the applique!! Mono Poly is what I needed to use with my fusible thread - it release's when you iron down the applique, so all you have is a stuck fabric and just a bit of fusible you've sewn on - (google superior threads, find the fusible thread and they have videos to watch that will explain/show it better then I did!! )
Anyways, I am on to say THESE FISH ARE SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH COME ACROSS MY MONITOR!!!! I am so glad to be part of this 'aquarium' and last night, knowing I can start this soon (hubby is home this weekend, so I am going to plan for it for next week!) I found myself looking through my fabrics last night and planning...... Yup, I have fabrics for background that will work!! And the fish you all have made are such an inspiration!!!
Next week, I am going to be making fish!!!!!
Shey, I will probably be using different fabrics for the background - to use up my stash and I am thinking I will not separate the fish with sashing when I sew them together...
I have ideas floating around my head about this project, but not using the same background is probably the way I will be doing it.
Shey, I have decided to use my stripes for backgrounds...they will all be different but will all be stripes. I kind of like the thought of all the same backgrounds though, like some are doing...pulls them all together. Anyhoo, just my take on it.
I have used small amounts of stitch-witchery in the centers of all of the areas (each little finger of the fins gets its own piece also) but have not put it near the edges so it isn't hard to sew through. I just hope my blanket stitching actually holds up if I wash it...
I'm using the same background fabric for all my fish. I'm not sure how I'm going to finish it, but I might not use sashing either, especially if I make it into a shower curtain. All of the fish are looking good. They make me smile just looking at them.
Patty J and Tisme, would you gals mind telling me what your eyes are made of on the fishies post above? They look interesting but I can't tell what they are.
They are plastic eyes that I bought at Hobby Lobby. The one for this month had eyelashes. So cute, but they aren't attached yet because I'd lose them trying to store, sew and quilt them together. LOL
