I just downloaded #2 for the fish quilt and #1 for her new pattern featuring owls. I have no immediate plans to make them but they are so cute!

Thanks for the reminder...it is appreciated!

Loving those owl blocks. It looks like this BOM might be more suitable to hand applique than her previous patterns have been. I know a little grandson that would love this quilt! So, it is on my TO-DO list now.

Hugs,

I am saving the fish patterns just because I was sorry I did not get the roosters. Don't know if I will ever actually do them. But those owls!!! Those are a definite. I think I will start that one this weekend.

Sindy posted on facebook that there is an error on page two of the owl pattern. So if you have already downloaded it you may want to do it again.

Can't print them here and will have to wait until Monday - drat! Can't wait to get on to the second fish. Think I'll print out the owls too - they are pretty cute.

Oops, the mistake is in the Owl pattern, not the fishy pattern. Smile

Thank you for the reminder. Downloaded both for future work. Oh well, downloaded the angel (fairy) one also. May use a block or town for something.

Couldn't wait, only took a half hour to stitch down. I see definite improvement in my stitching and ironing down. Maybe by the end I'll be good at this. Smile I like the fish and can't wait to hang this in my basement. Will look so cute with the fish tank.

Only using scraps, so all his fins don't match, but I kind of like it that way.

Ready for March!

quick question.. i've been downloading them.. but i haven't started yet.. those of you that are hand blanket stitching them.. what are you using for your heat and bond??.. the lite one??.. does that help make it easier to get your needle thru??.. or doesn't it matter??..

ALL.. of your fishes are quite cute!!.. i'm loving all the colour combos.. Smile

oh.. and.. are you using all different background fabrics for each fish??.. or using the same background fabric for the entire series??

I got my Mono Poly thread from Superior threads yesterday so I am good to go on the applique!! Mono Poly is what I needed to use with my fusible thread - it release's when you iron down the applique, so all you have is a stuck fabric and just a bit of fusible you've sewn on - (google superior threads, find the fusible thread and they have videos to watch that will explain/show it better then I did!! Wink )

Anyways, I am on to say THESE FISH ARE SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH COME ACROSS MY MONITOR!!!! I am so glad to be part of this 'aquarium' and last night, knowing I can start this soon (hubby is home this weekend, so I am going to plan for it for next week!) I found myself looking through my fabrics last night and planning...... Yup, I have fabrics for background that will work!! And the fish you all have made are such an inspiration!!!

Next week, I am going to be making fish!!!!! Big Grin

Shey, I will probably be using different fabrics for the background - to use up my stash and I am thinking I will not separate the fish with sashing when I sew them together...

I have ideas floating around my head about this project, but not using the same background is probably the way I will be doing it.

Shey, I have decided to use my stripes for backgrounds...they will all be different but will all be stripes. I kind of like the thought of all the same backgrounds though, like some are doing...pulls them all together. Anyhoo, just my take on it.

I have used small amounts of stitch-witchery in the centers of all of the areas (each little finger of the fins gets its own piece also) but have not put it near the edges so it isn't hard to sew through. I just hope my blanket stitching actually holds up if I wash it...

I'm using the same background fabric for all my fish. I'm not sure how I'm going to finish it, but I might not use sashing either, especially if I make it into a shower curtain. All of the fish are looking good. They make me smile just looking at them. Smile

They are plastic eyes that I bought at Hobby Lobby. The one for this month had eyelashes. So cute, but they aren't attached yet because I'd lose them trying to store, sew and quilt them together. LOL
