Has anyone done any of these yet? There is 5 side panels a top & bottom. When they are sewn together the box becomes rounded on the sides.I am making them for my DGD's for Christmas. I've purchased some really pretty earrings for them and wanted something different to put the gifts in.
This is the first panel I've finished.

What you have done so far is just lovely.

I have the instructions printed and filed. It's on my to-do list.

Are you using cardboard? I thought maybe pellon would work good or would it be too thick?

I wonder where she got the hummingbird lace????
Darn I still haven't found anymore. Maybe I will see if I can email her.

ETA: I left a comment on her blog to see if she could direct me to some hummingbird appliques.

I'm using cereal boxes. It wasn't easy getting enough cardboard for 10 boxes! I tried tissue boxes but it's too thin.

I too would love hummingbird appliques and have searched all over for them. If I ever do find them I'll get extra for you.

I'm also going to try a tiny frog closure because I don't like the way hers sticks up. I think that happens because of sewing the lid on.
I could only find white in a tiny one so I don't know if I'm going to like the look unless the tassle hides it.

I don't think it will dye, it's poly, but in the past hour I've searched once again for hummingbirds and found some frogs in black. I also found "The hummingbird house" for sale in AZ..lol

Thanks Holee! I just copied and pasted it, it worked great!

**To make a clickable link... just in case you ever want to try it. Wink When you are writing your reply there is a box that says "URL" If you click it, you can paste the page link in the URL part and put the name you want to call your link in the 'title' part... it looks like a bunch of squiggles and dots, but will post as your link... Holee I found some hummingbirds that alady named Julia used on her CQ she also has a blog spot. I posted a link for it. The first didn't go there but the second one did, you can see the hummingbirds ther. I google her name and she has a blog, maybe she can help you find the hummingbirds she used.

Holee your box is going to be absolutely beautiful! I teach at a LQS and they carry lots of the frogs - I'll check Monday night to see what other colors they have... I know I've seen black and a few other colors in different sizes. Which ones would you be interested in?

I can't wait to see your finished beauty Big Grin
