Oh, that Pineapple Blossom quilt is gorgeous!! Gotta take a look at that one. If I remember right, I saw Bonnie's PB quilt at the Vermont show, but she used much narrower strips.

Auntie Reba, here's a link

http://quiltville.blogspot.com...neapple-blossom.html

FFG, Bonnie gives directions for 2 different size strips...I did mine with 2.5" strips- I wanted something quick, so the bigger block met my needs better.

I love it. It's probably in her "Shirt tails" book which I have.. Maybe not the right title..I'll have to look later on. I like the idea of using your scraps.

CitySandie- I "decoded" this quilt by looking at it closely.

For each block:
Cut (4) 3-1/2" background squares,
(5) 2" background squares,
(4) 2" scrappy squares,
(4) 2" x 3-1/2" scrappy bricks
and (4) 2" x 6-1/2" strips.

Sew 4 sets of 2" background + 2" scrappy squares.
Add a 2" x 3-1/2" brick to the bottom of this set with scrappy 2" square on the left.

Sew 3-1/2" background square to the other side of the 2" x 3-1/2" scrappy brick.

Repeat so you have 4 rectangle sets.

Look at photo for placement direction of each set.

Don't forget to place the fifth 2" background square in the very center position of the block!

That's it!

DebbieWI- I made my first 4 sets for my first block and tried and tried to get those four rectangular units to make the final block! I even ripped apart one section to try to "make it work!"

Then I realized that there was the one remaining background square! Why hadn't I noticed it before? As soon as I set that in the very center of the block surrounded by the four rectangular units- it worked!

The moral of the story is to learn from my struggle and it will be an easy stash buster!

I put this jelly roll quilt together in July. Actually, I don't know what to call the pre-cuts. There were more than 44, but only 5 different fabrics. So I cut a few strips from three other fabrics in my stash to give it a little zip. Finished quilting it yesterday - finished the quilting in one day using an ocean wave design in each row.

A sweet couple who are from Ghana and friends from church had their first baby on Saturday morning about 5 weeks early.

Baby and mom are doing well and going home from the hospital tonight so I need to make a baby boy quilt for them to give them on Sunday. Looked through some quilt magazines and found this pattern. Adapted it to my scraps and stash and here's the quilt top I put together today!

This one was even more simple-

(13) 7-1/2" novelty squares (my teddy bears)
Made into snowball blocks by adding 2-1/4" squares to each corner and do a sew and flip.

The alternate block is a 4 patch using 2-1/4" squares alternating with HST that are cut at 4-3/8" before sewing on the diagonal into HST!

That's pretty much it!

Easy-peasy!!!!!! (and all of you know that that's the only kind of project I tackle!)

I made 96 blocks from scrap stash, just had to buy the white. 60 are for the siggy swap in Branson & the extra are to get siggies from folks who didn't join the swap.

I love this thread & get such inspiration from what I see. Also, don't think there's a "quilt p0lice" that says you should do this or that. Finished? All of my fabric is work in progress!!
