Went to a "Living Green Expo" this weekend and they had clothes made out of bamboo. Were so soft & silky. Priced the same as anything else in a clothing store, as far as I could tell. One lady at one of the other booths was wearing one and she said it was very comfortable... chris

We had a BIG discussion a while back on bamboo batting.
They keep pushing bamboo at us because it's reportedly "green". They haven't convinced me, yet, but you can decide for yourself.

Yeah, I have just started hearing about the bamboo fabric myself. I thought I would buy some and see how I liked it, but I haven't yet...... sounds like an interesting fabric choice though

I bought some for a wallhanging because it was the right "black" for the look.

I didn't use it for that, it is too soft and drapy for quilting in the usual sense. It ravels easily too, so be sure to take that into account if you are making garments. It would work for the soft flowing styles of dresses and skirts. It made me think of how you fight with chiffon as you try to hold it in place and sew.

I bought a pair of socks that has bamboo in them - I can't really tell much difference.
