I am planning to send out the two wedding quilts to be quilted. I haven't ever done that, before. Typically, what will the quilter expect me to bring - do I baste the back to the front before I bring it in? Bring the batting with me or what? Thanks for your input.

You need to contact your quilter, but typically you will send the back and top (well pressed) and discuss the batting, many quilters have batting that they prefer. The quilter will put the quilt on her frame and and then quilt it together.

I totally agree with Sandy, and make sure your backing is 6-8" bigger than your top. Ask your quilter for sure what size she likes.

I don't mind coming to work. But that 8 hr. wait to go home is a drag.

Oh that is terrific. I figured I would mess it up if I tried to baste something that big. I have card from someone who comes highly recommended in this area and will give her a call. Thanks!!

My longarm quilter does NOT want the top basted. Also she has the batting and I select the thread colors from her collection. I also select the pattern of quilting I would like her to do. Its best to talk to the quilter before you bring in the quilt - she may have batting, thread, patterns and even backing for you to select from. Nancy
