Queen Elizabeth looks pretty in pink!!! Not too big on florals or beige. Often wears the same shoes with her outfits!!!

I don't think so, but I can remember when you did not go to church without them.

As a Brit expat. I can tell you that two of the practical reasons she wears gloves are:
1. The weather
2. Germs from shaking so many hands. Actually she doesn't actually shake, more like touch finger tiips. (arthritis)

Looking at the photos, I think she finds a style she likes and has several made in different colors. She seems to have a favourite pair of black shoes and handbag. It must be exhausting to have to be dressed up so often!

I'm sure if my Grandma was still with us she would be wearing gloves and bemoaning the fact that Eitels and Zahns were out of business and she couldn't get replacements. Big Grin Big Grin She was a dressy lady through and through Never went out without gloves and a hanky tucked in her sleeves. I miss her.

That was cool to see! I love that she wears colors instead of neutrals, and that she usually has a diamond brooch clipped to her left shoulder.

In that article, right above the Vogue cover -- I have a suit (about 2 yrs. old) that very color, made of that same type of fabric! I wonder if Tahari copied the Queen?! I also noticed that she had 2 similar purses in the photos of the red & green suits next to each other. Same signature clasp, but one has a "bottom" and the other doesn't. Wouldn't you love to be the person who got to make her purses or hats?!

I wondered who designed or was in charge of her wardrobe, and came up with the name Angela Kelly. (If interested, Google.) I was going to guess her name was "Natalie Attired." Big Grin

I looked at all the jackets...seemed to be very similar...no cuffs...open (for ease of shaking hands...the "wave"?) mostly seemed to have different necklines. LOVED the basket pin.

Took me awhile to get Natalie Attired...bwahahaha...related to Polly Esther?

Yes, and they have a cousin, Della Ware, but she's usually wearing her New Jersey. Wave

i thoroughly enjoyed this article - thanks so much for sharing .. I remember her coronation ... long long ago .. mere babe that I was ... but your punny puns were the most fun ..
does anyone else remember a few years ago, I think around Christmas, the pages and pages of 'poetry' we did .. one or 2 lines at a time .. that was fun .. you all made me think of that.

I was surprised to see that 98% of the time, she wore black shoes with a dark bag.

I noticed that most of the black shoes looked like the same pair! I bet if you have to be your feet so often at her age and you find a pair of shoes that are comfortable, you wear them!
