That's awesome news! We've had 3 open in the Baton Rouge area in the last year, 2 of them just since spring. All three are totally different fabric-wise and the oldest has a great following of shoppers and class-takers. The 2 newest are beginning to pick up, tho we keep encouraging them to join the big guild in BR. The fourth shop recently moved and downsized, getting rid of the sewing machines since Joann's opened in March.

That's so nice for you to have a new shop nearby. About a month ago, when we went to visit DS and family my DDIL took me the the new shop in Hopkinsville, KY where she now works. They did't have a lot in stock yet and we were the only ones shopping. We were there again this past Saturday and I was glad to see that they have enlarged their inventory. DDIL was working and was so busy that it was almost an hour before she had time to cut my fabric! They are beginning to schedule classes so that will help their business. The owner's husband has a small bookstore in the front part of the building so the husbands have someplace to browse/wait while quilters shop.
