Just checked my emails and HSN has the Singer computerized machine on as the special of the day.

Really tossed it back & forth last time. Still on the fence, like I need another machine!!??!???! Know I have read that everyone that got it seems to like it... Chris

I love mine.

The only complaints I remember were - too heavy, not portable. Not an issue for me since I have the featherweight for classes and this one won't go anywhere. And someone said it's too loud - I haven't noticed that to be an issue.

What I will say is this - you have to polish the bed and it scratches easily. Other than that, it's easy to use and sooo pretty. Let us know what you decide.

katie, what do you use to polish it with. I haven't taken the time to try anything yet but would love to know what worked for you.

I'm not even gonna look. I'm afraid if I look...I'll like & if I like I might buy. Some hard not to go have a look though. Let us know if you decide to go for it this time.

SewHappy - I use hubby's special car wax. It's a silicone based super blah blah blah. I don't know all the details, but it's a car wax. Paste. I rub it in, wait a little wipe it off. Very careful to not get anywhere near the feed dogs - only on the plastic. But it's slick and there is no drag on the fabric. Seems to help it resist scratches a little too. Worth a shot.

Also, I keep a microfiber cloth next to the machine and wipe it down every once in a while.

Oh Chris, you are getting very good at resisting temptation. Wish I had your resolve. I think I would still look at sewing machines though. I'd use the resolve to avoid the temptation of snacking on chocolate while I was looking at the sewing machines.
