Just got an e-mail from JoAnn.com saying that their rolls of 90" wide x 40 yards is on sale today only for a little more than 50% off- $209/roll instead of $429/roll!

That's about $5.20/yard! I usually buy mine this way, but I bet if you don't want the expense of a full roll that you could find some local friends to share it with!

With the cost of everything skyrocketing, this may be a good way to ensure that you'll have enough batting to quilt undisturbed!!!!

Hth!

I bought a roll last week when it was on sale and also used the 20% off coupon. I had to "special order" a full roll but that's how I usually do it. But this time they started charging for shipping to the store with their regular order. They have NEVER done that before. And they couldn't give me tax free till it came into the store, then they "returned" it and I bought it again tax free. Strange thing is, I'd just ordered a roll of polyester batting 2 weeks before, no problem tax free at time of order and no charge for shipping to the store.

I don't mind coming to work. But that 8 hr. wait to go home is a drag.

Found a way to take advantage of this sale. I chose King and Crib battings in bags. The roll comes out $5.25/yd, the kings were almost $1 cheaper per yard considering I'd have to piece batting to get this size. The crib size would be $4.79/yard (if it were 90" wide). I have part of a roll in my house for other sizes but need these others. So thank you for pointing out this sale. I'm a teacher so I also got the teacher discount of 15% so that more than paid for the shipping. Thank you, thank you. I really hate piecing king size battings so hopefully this will inspire me to get some ufo's done.

Moral of the story: if you need this extra wide king size batting the packages are a great bargain and not sold in our store.
