Nicki, though I'd like to take credit for those two wonderful quilts from a Mrs. Claus representing Virginia... it wasn't me! Has to be someone else that did those. I love that duck! I live in OH but chose VA because a sister lives there and we hope to relocate there one day and there OH had been taken. I plan on working on my quilts after Thanksgiving. | ||||

Hi Nik: now that Christmas is over, I will be starting other projects including the doll quilts I signed up for. I just wanted to know if you have anyone signed up for Rhode Island. If not, I will take that state as well so all of New England is covered. Thanks | |||

Oh Catwmn27, that's sweet of you to take on another state. I've got you signed up for The Ocean State Rhode Island). Thank you soooo much. I need to get started on making a few more now that Christmas is over & my sewing projects are completed. There are 7 states left that have not been spoken for. Don't forget that in 2013 we can have more than one sign up for a state. So if you see a state that's already got a name by it I will be MORE THAN HAPPY to put your name next to it also.This message has been edited. City/Sandie was soooo enthusiastic about this last year, I thought I'd join in this time around. Since all my favorite states are taken, how 'bout I take Utah, it's only a stone's throw away from where I live anyway. Kin I make one for Alaska, also? Hmm..new to the site and the states I could claim allegiance to are CA, OR, and OK but you have folks there. Didn't check for Hawaii or Ohio. I would love to do a child's quilt as I have a great stash of fabric. | ||||

WQFC, thanks so much for bumping this up to the top. I was going to do it last week-end & things got in the way. I've updated the list on page 1 & added the most recent volunteers. City/Sandie....yes, of course you signed up early & was going to wait until later to pick a state but now I have you down for Puerto Rico.  Paus...I've got you down for Utah & Alaska & thanks! KaylaQuilts....You have been assigned Missouri, Alaska & Arizona. Be careful..just mentioning a state will get you on the list...hehehe! Thanks so much for joining us on this. You can go to the link I posted on my initial post on page 1 and see what this project is all about. SueStitches...welcome & thanks for the offer to make a quilt. Do you want to pick a state or would you like for me to assign one to you? You can pick a state that has already been selected. My thought behind the states was that our board would contribute at least 50 quilts for the project...in 2012 this board provided 126 little doll quilts.This message has been edited. OMG...well...ya know what...a certain silly redhead needs to finish unpacking a couple of suitcases containing fabric from her recent trip back to KY, because I have 2 doll quilts in there, I am surely a nut and was way to busy while I was on holiday, brought them to mail to save money on postage only to bring them back again...now if that don't take the cake! Will send them when I find them Nicki...sometimes I need a sticky note stuck to my forehead so that everytime I look in the mirror I am reminded of what I need to do! This is such a fun, wonderful project to do. I also learned new stitches and how to (finally) get good miters! Such a great bonus to bringing joy to little faces. "It's bad to supress laughter. It goes back down and spreads to your hips." | |||

KS, I laughed because I did a similar thing... carried something with me to give to my sister in VA to save postage... then brought it home with me! It's so much fun seeing all the doll quilts and Nancy, you're right... I have learned something working on these small pieces. | ||||

Those are really cute. I volunteered for this and have no idea which way to go. I like the idea of 'recycling' left over blocks from other quilts but I like making something 'fresh'. Always decisions to be made around here. | |||
