I was at Hobby Lobby today. They had two clear bags filled with an assortment of fabrics for $3.99. The bag felt heavy enough and I could see many of the fabrics so I took a chance and bought one. I got it home and found that several of the fabrics have some holes in it. One has spots that I think will come out.

Anyway, I think it will be good for string quilts. Just thought I'd pass the experience along in case anyone else runs across the same thing.

I wish I could post a picture, but we have misplaced our memory card for the digital camera.

Well if after you look through the fabric and you feel that you got a good deal then you got a good deal.

I'm thinking that I thought I could be getting a great deal. It was worth it to me to take the chance. I was not expecting holes in the fabric. It's still useable for me, so, all in all, I got an OK deal.

I guess sometimes in life, you just have to take the chance. You win some, you lose some and sometimes you break even!

I'm sure it was a good deal. The holes & stains were the reason they were in the bag. I've bought boxes of seconds and always can use much more that is good than the cost of the box. The $3.99 is less than the price of a yard of fabric, so if you came out with a yard of usable fabric, you're ahead... Chris

I just wish they would have indicated that they were seconds. You're right though. I would bet there is more than a yard of fabric. I don't think I'll go that route again. Today I got into it more and I am more disappointed than I was yesterday Frown

A new LQS in my area sells bags of scraps for 1.00. I have been buying them on a regular basis, lots of great pieces for strings & sometimes there are large pieces, I have gotten several pieces to fussy cut for I Spy quilts. Always love a great fabric deal Roll Eyes!!

Our Tall Mouse has a scrap bin and a zip locked baggie that you fill as full as you can as long as it doesn't extend more than 2" out the end of the bag. I stack and roll and get a LOT of fabric in there! I don't leave there until I do that
