I've been collecting CW fabrics for years, not really knowing what patterns to use them for. I just got the book Ci vil W ar legacies by Carol Hopkins and I want to make every single one of the patterns in the book!!! So, so happy! Snoopy Dance.

I'll have to check that out - I have a large bin of CW fabrics...started collecting them to make a Dear Jane quilt with - that didn't happen I do like them though so they deserve to "become" something.

These are smallish quilts. so they're doable in my lifetime!!!! I don't know which one to do first!!! maybe just start at the beginning. I've never had a book before where I wanted to make them all!!!!!!!
I didn't have much interest in CW fabbies when I first started stashing...thought they looked kinda "dreary" next to my other happy prints. Then when I started having an appreciation for them, the store that specialized in them closed! So I have very few in my stash.
And come to think of it, there is no LQS for me that carries a lot of them these days... That guy with the "coffee" looking first name & the wild prints seemed to move in & take over the shelf space a few years ago. Now it's new bright colors & graphic prints I'm seeing at LQS's, not little dainty calicoes. Things that make you go Hmmmm. Was there a CW fad that passed? No - can't be - there's still an interest in Dear Jane, right?
So where are you getting CW prints these days?

Lots of quilt stores in Wisconsin have CW fabrics and there are some fairly large quilt shops that specialize in CW fabrics. Life's a Stitch in Janesville, JJStitches in SunPrairie, YeOldeSchoolhouse in Cedarburg, Country Sampler in Spring Green and Primitive Gatherings all specialize in this era and are sizeable shops. Millhouse Quilts in Wauanakee has a good amount, but does not specialize in this area. There are many other stores that have a nice section dedicated to these prints, but clearly not a specialty. I guess we are lucky!!!
