Hey Holly, good to see you back - have only been sewing birthday blocks for my Friday quilting group; will get back to normal sewing one of these days now that my headaches have settled down to a dull roar. Stay well!!

Besides finishing up my Lean on Me project, I've been working on an art wallhanging. Not sure how it is going to go. It is full of pinwheel blocks and I can't imagine what I was thinking since I don't like pinwheel blocks.

I made this little (8.5" x 12") quilt for AAQI. Named it "Wishing Stars" because it has lots of stars for those times when a person really needs a star to wish upon but the sky is cloudy - or the sun is shining.

Wonderful star quilt. I hope you keep track of how much money these beauties fetch. They are amazing.

I joined a new break out group from my quilt guild Wednesday. We're trying to use our scraps. Crumb quilts was our first project. I got my first top finished. It's 48"x60". I tend to trash crumbs of most fabrics but not 30s. It was fun to make. Now we're hunting for a name. How about Ambivalent Stash Slashers??? The acronym might grate some.LOL

LOL, Evelyn. How about "Equivocal Stash Slashers"? Similar idea but less chance for offense in the acronym...........

Uhhh - according to my spreadsheet the total earnings for my little quilts is just $28.81 shy of $10,000. Kinda bogles my mind when I stop to think about it!

LOL My uncle's initials were A.S.S. He carved them EVERYWHERE!

This Woven Stars table runner was a guild project that I just finished. Only the border is quilted. You sew fabric into tubes and weave them. It's very heavy! I made mine reversible by changing the border color. It was interesting, but I'll never make another one. The weaving drove me crazy getting everything right.

This is the reverse side.

I found a tutorial for a cathedral window pin cushion on the internet and decided to make one. It only took about an hour and was fun to do.

Bozie that's amazing! I imagine you're right up there with their top earners with that sum. Do you know how many quilts you've done for AAQI, or have you lost track?

Teddylady, that sounds like a pretty interesting technique...was there a book you were working from? Were there other designs to choose from? Although, I do really like that one!

Penny, can't wait to see your piece once you get further along on it. I like the look of pinwheel blocks...it's just the infernal trimming/squaring up of those HSTs!

Evelyn, funny name for your group...kinda reminds me of when they were trying to come up with a name for the team that would respond to emergencies at my hospital- someone came up with "Fast Action Response Team" They settled on Rapid Response Team. Anyway, I like your crumbs. Someday I'm gonna have to give that a try- I save some pretty tiny pieces!

Now that I'm back sewing I got to work to some journal covers that will be given as gifts. They fit a standard size marble composition notebook.

I've been adding a sleeve to The Masque for the State Fair judging next week. Other than that, making progress on my challenge piece(s).

AngelaC, we used a pattern from www.dreamweavers.com. They have this pattern and one that looks like tumbling blocks. I wish that I had seen the tumbling blocks first because it is probably a little easier. It was fun, but I'd rather just quilt.

EVELYNB, how many of your geometry students wanted to have an "angle, side, side" congruence theorem?

I love all the projects posted so far and am in awe of Bozie's total earnings for AQS.

I've been busy finishing up some quilts this week but haven't taken pics yet. I'll try to get DH to help later today so I can show you.

Jayardi, is your quilt going to the Wisconsin State Fair?? I might try talking Sue into going up there. Haven't been for a year or so and I Love the Cream Puffs. YUM. Good Luck to you. Pat Oops, forgot to say that I love the projects shown already today. Sue and I are working on a Christmas present quilt and it has lots of blocks that need to be sewn together and it is taking some time. But it is looking good so far. Will post when we get further along.

I haven't looked at everyone's work yet but wanted to add that these two young ladies whom I am watching with their DB two days/week, completed their first ever pillowcases and we went out and bought more fabric for toss pillows (which they LOVE making.) Hey, you gotta get the next batch of sewers going!

What memories! "But I wrote it backwards SSA so it's a good theorem!" Hope they're not architects now! I had a bulletin board with minor math errors that caused major disasters. Rounding errors were way too common. What if you were trying to land on the moon and your angle was 1/2 degree off? What if you were digging the Chunnel between England and the continent and you were off by 1/2 degrees would the tunnels meet at the middle? Quilters know too well about measuring errors being compounded.

Holly- I am glad that you are doing well and doing the post for us. Love all the projects being shown. Lots of good ideas. Thanks for sharing. Sue

Evelyn: I have to ask you ...did you coordinate the scraps by colors? They seem so nicely collected or is it all just 30's so they harmonize? I really like it a lot and Lumpy ..what pretty blocks..I'm curious about the paper piecing too as I love to paper piece. The other projects were all SUPER TOO!

I stuffed all my 30s bits and pieces into two large bags and grabbed without paying any attention to color or design. The camera makes the black and brown jump out but it person it's not so obvious. I think all 30s designs go together. It's fun to use up some of the fabrics I've grabbed from the trash. LOL

This is the baby quilt top I am making for our seventh great grandbaby due next month. Hope to have it finished by then.

Will need t do a crumb block quilt at some point, EvelynB thanks for another idea on what to do. Love each diagonal row a different solid color. Will need to think on that.

Bozie-- how small are those squares on your mini? I am impressed- the smallest I have done so far is finishing at a 1/4".

Auntie Reba, those pillow cases that the girls made are FANTASTIC!! They sure picked out some great fabrics. Looks like you've got some up & coming students!!!

Lumpy Tush, your mystery blocks are sure coming along nicely. Each one looks so different by changing the fabrics.

Becky, that baby quilt is sooooo cute!! I love smiling animals! That 7th great grandbaby is going to love it.

Have to add they bought the large part of each case at Just Fabrics in RI. There's two stores and they are the third largest seller/purchaser of fabrics as they send to South America etc. so their prices beat quilt shops by about 5.00 per yard. I am so happy to now have them in our home town. They don't sell online that I know of but you can find them on FB as Just Fabrics and see our store. I had the hem sections at my house. **Projects just added are awesome. I love those mystery blocks! and the froggie quilt-too cute!

Tried something different this evening. I crocheted a potholder then quilted it to Insulbrite and a fabric backing. I was surprised how easy it was. Think I'll look at my book of granny squares for more.

Oh Evelyn, that potholder is absolutely wonderful. It makes me want to start crocheting again (self taught & know very little). What a clever idea!
