Didn't that word just make your groan when you were in school?! HOMEWORK. Arrrggghhhh.

Here we go:
You can make this cover with a FQ or enough fabric to equal a FQ.
Or - do you have an orphan block anywhere?
Prequilted fabric will even work.

Velcro. A piece of fuzzy sew on. And a piece of loopy stick-on. For this cover, you have to be willing to stick velcro on the back of your device. Or, you could sew "corners" on the inside of your cover, but with my device that would've covered part of the keyboard and part of the reading area.

Bias binding (purchased or make your own)
Closure of some sort - I used a ponytail holder and a button. You could also add a flap with velcro if you wish.

Two pieces of cardboard slightly smaller than your e-reader.

Measure your e-reader...width, height, and depth. You need to make the outside of your cover with enough give that it will wrap around your device. Grab your block, make a new one, or just cut your FQ to fit. Make a quilt layer with batting and backing and quilt...unless you are using prequilted fabric.

This cover was made from an orphan block. Somehow it twisted so I did not use it in my DGDs baby quilt. I had to add to the sides to make it wide enough.

EDITED TO ADD: Measurement for cover to fit my Kindle is approximately 8 1/2" x 11 1/2". You need it larger because it may shrink with the quilting. Be sure to do your quilting BEFORE the party! I ran one row of straight quilting down the center of the "spine" and another row 1/4" each side of it just because I thought it might help it "bend" better.

I made this for the FQ challenge at Branson COF.

Velcro placement.

You will stick it on your reader first to keep it away from any screws, airholes, etc. Then line up on the pocket.

One more thing. You can go ahead and cut your two inside pockets. I slip cardboard into these to add some stability to the cover and I think protection for the screen.

I've got to resize more photos...

The side pockets are going to be the height of the quilted cover and half the width. Turn under one long edge twice and shirt-tail hem it.

That's all I can think of for now.

OH...I did think of one more thing. We will be starting at 7:30 central.

I use plastic canvas instead of caardboard. That way it is machine washable.

This "pattern" - the cardboard can slip out. I left the pockets open...one side holds my charging cord, the other holds my headphones.

I saw your cover at retreat and it was neat looking. Now to try and make something nicer than what I have. Maybe I can use my orphan Pineapple block. LOL and I can practice my fmq or hand quilting.
