I just saw the REVEAL! Wow! I can't wait to see all your quilts. I didn't play along because my stash didn't have the right colors. Now I wish I had. I did save all the parts so I can add this quilt to my "someday" list.

It's been fun trying to solve this mystery. The only thing I had right was that we would make 16 blocks - and that is only partly right because we also make 9 blocks of another pattern. I hope to have some pictures to show by the end of the day, probably not the complete quilt but at least of some blocks.

Here is the link to the page, but uploading the pdf will take a lot of time (mine is going on 30 minutes now and hasn't hardly moved!). Best to try during the evening hours. Oh, also check her post for a CORRECTION!

So many possibilities of finishing the top. It's neat, can't wait to see what all of you do with it.

I saw a correction about the green 5 1/2" squares (we needed to have cut 3 more than she originally said). Have others been posted? I can't find them if so. Could someone give me hints, please?

On the Yahoo group I saw a couple posting pertaining to OOPS...I'll have to go back and look...I do remember one of them said Bonnie mentioned it on Facebook,I haven't looked there...still trying to clean up here from a quilting party...not a party party..

ETA: I found this on Yahoo

> STEP 4 - Change the 3.5" squares from 145 to169 and
> STEP 6 - Change the 5.5 green squares from 16 to 19
> That's it - Nettie in PA

KC I love your blocks so far. I've only been collecting the instructions. What do all think of the finished quilt?
Would love to see finished ones!

Thanks, May! That won't be hard to correct. I already cut the extra 5 1/2" squares so just need a few more of the smaller squares. I certainly have plenty of fabric to cut them from because green is my favorite color.

This step is slow! I have the triangles done and the set of 9 blocks, just starting on the set of 16 blocks. It's going to be a fabulous quilt so I don't mind the time involved - I'm just anxious to see it finished.

I haven't decided on borders. I'd like to make it a little longer - thinking about a narrow border on each end, then a row of 3" squares (or HSTs) on the ends only, and then add the borders that Bonnie suggested. What do you think? Will that look OK and not detract from the design?

Mary Lou, I was also questioning the size of the border...I think I will go with a 2" inner border and a 6" outer border.

I still have a lot of blocks to put together but have enough done to start laying them out. When I did so, I realized this is going to be a big quilt even before borders. So here's my thinking now: Bonnie says it will be 84" x 84" before borders; 88" x 98" would be a good size for it to finish (in my opinion); so I need 2" border on each side and a total of 7" on each end; a 2" border, a pieced 3" border, and another 2" border makes 7". That's what I'm leaning towards now but it may change when I get ready to do borders.

Now, IF I had any brains, I would take that block and add those four corner sections and consider this a great table topper...

Love that red and purple together....

I am still on Step 7...When I went to sew my Bricks and geese together I had not trimmed all the dog ears from the geese...so more of KC's "goose droppings" . I got those done last night so tonight I will finish and start to assemble.

Anyone running short of 4 patches ??? I saw a message on the Yahoo groupwhere someone thinks we may need to make more? No problem if we do...

I really like seeing all the different color combinations...

ETA: It appears the 4 Patch count is correct as posted by Bonnie...the worried ladies had a math error.

Love it! All the blocks you brave ladies have posted are beautiful.

I didn't play because I have no black/white or grey fabrics. So I sat back and waited to see what the end result would be. I do love the look as Bonnie designed it but I will have to change it up if I want to make one. I will be sure to post about it if I do.

Can't wait to see more!

You could use any color combination you want! Mine is hunter green, dark blue, deep red with brown in place of gray and creams in place of white/black.

The final step is going much slower than I want it to. I'm almost finished with the blocks and will soon start sewing them together. Still trying to decide about borders.

I agree KC we could have so easily me thinks......I've gone to Turtle Speed now...I'm still on Part 7, #2 triangles..Frown so I'll enjoy the slow ride...Lots of seams, pressing is a challenge so I've gone to just finger pressing now...easier to reverse...

Here is my first block B. The bottom goose is not crooked, just hanging wrong on the sheet. Now I can go to bed as I work another early a.m. shift tomorrow--what was I thinking?
