Aliquilt, I mailed your blocks today. I carried them around in my car for three days, lol, but never fear they are now in the hot little hands of the USPO. Joan

Since I seldom host a month, I try to make several blocks for the hostesses. Last week, as I was making some Louisiana blocks for KC I wasn't paying close enough attention and put them together incorrectly. However, Aliquilt listed quilter's choice for her month so she will be getting these.
Aliquilt, please PM me your updated address. I have the address on Harrison that you said is incorrect. I'll get these in the mail as soon as I get it.This message has been edited. Last edited by: pvillelou,
I haven't been out of the house for a couple days...and my house has been an internet dead zone ugghh...anyway..Pvillelou, the blocks are cute and I pm'd back my address. I received very cool blocks Wednesday and Thursday from Sewlove2quilt and Quiltimama2...all the blocks will play well together. I'm finishing up a "CAR" quilt from my friend's sons birthday in April and a cutting for a couple swaps, then will work on putting these together. I made it to Fabric Shack/Waynesville last week to find several fabrics perfect for backings--cause they were $1.98 yard!! no excuse now not to get some things finished up!

Aliquilt, I only mailed mine Monday. Is there a Quiltimama2? or do they come from someone else? One of my blocks was a hexagon applique block and the other one was concentric squares. Joan

MaryLou, your cute blocks arrived yesterday. After I add borders on a QOV, make some blocks for KC and finish the toddler quilt, I'll be playing with the blocks I've received. No rush on sending blocks if someone is still planning on sending, I have a couple other swaps I can add them too! KC, thanks for posting that picture. I know I sometimes forget how little so many people have and how touched/grateful they are to receive a beautiful quilt! I sobbed through the PBS special on QOV yesterday, which also reminded me. Thanks ladies!
As I look ahead on the hostess list, I see that terrimae and Aliquilt are both requesting red/white/blue blocks. Do the two of you want that to be restricted to bright red and bright blue as on our flag or is it OK to use reds that are almost maroon/burgundy and blues that are closer to navy? I have a lot of the darker ones on hand but will buy the brighter ones if you prefer that.
The reason I'm looking so far ahead is that I often do a future month at the same time as a current month if they use the same fabrics and/or patterns. It seems easier to me that way. Also I know I'm going to be super busy in May and June so I'm hoping to work ahead a bit. This message has been edited. Last edited by: pvillelou,

Glad you got them OK. I didn't take a photo before I mailed them so don't have one to post.

pvillelou, as to your question about color...as for me, the maroon/navy shades are fine. I have plenty of fabrics in each family for filling in as needed. Will be glad to have whatever blocks you are able to send. Thank you.

Sewlove, the Louisana block is so cute for the kiddies so why not use them both months? It will also save postage $ for those of you who would like to make them for the year.
Since this is April 1st, here is a list of blocks I have so far for April only. I'll post the ones many of you sent in for November when that month comes along. Again, thank you all of the extra triangles!
KC, bet you are wondering what happen to my blocks, huh? Well, I got them back yesterday {w/ a sticker put right over your addess} that said "undeliverable"...I tried to peel off the sticker but it tore the envelope so I couldn't find out what mistake I made! :/
I'll get them back in the mail asap...will make your nov blocks to save on postage...lol!!

Saturday I was running errands and when I got home there was a big box by the door. I had been expecting a small box but nothing this big. It was stuffed with 10 minute blocks from Wiley!! oh and a couple blue/white blocks, maybe paperpiece? very cool. I'm not home (mine is an internet dead zone, which is why it's taken so long to post this, sorry) but I there were over 20 blocks, several different male-themed fabrics with wow backgrounds. I have fabrics to put with them in my stash. Thanks so much. After I quilt a toddler quilt and do my strip swap, I'll be working with these. Thanks again!!
KC, I mailed your apr & nov blocks to you today. I checked & rechecked your addy {thought I did that last time also...??} anyway, I posted a pic on the other thread of the 2 new blocks...didn't read the date just 'sunshine quilters'...lol!

I just was notified by mail that I have been awarded a mini-grant of $250 from our state quilting organization for batting and backing for the Sunshine quilts to be made from April and Novemeber blocks! I don't have to pay it back--just submit photos of the finished quilts and a report at a state meeting. Awesome, huh? This message has been edited. Last edited by: KC1930,
