It is out ladies! Summer 2008... I found mine at Krogers this morning! It is my total favorite magazine, the projects are just so neat and quick if that is what you want. On the last page of each issue, it tells when the next one is due out. It said May 6. They do NOT have a subscription available yet, the lady said they have to have a certain number for circulation..well I am all for helping them get there! It is one of the Better Homes and Gardens quilt magazines. Such darling projects! They have a Grandmother's Flower Garden coaster for a carry along project! And little girls"Flirty Skirty" skirt pattern. And so much more..what is your favorite thing?
edited for my typos.

Owie- the Grandmother's Flower Coaster was appliqued to the background fabric, and I think that was the only applique in the magazine.
There are almost too many projects that I want to do in this issue!! I must do the coasters. They are so cute! And I love the Slumber Party quilt, and the snowball quilt called Square Off, and the retro quilt, etc...I used to do a lot of hand applique and hand quilting, but now that I have 2 y/o twins, I find the easy, quick projects more enjoyable. Maybe because I can actually finish them.
If anyone wanted to organize a swap of the GFG coasters, I'm in! I've never been a hostess, I need more practice as a swap participant first!
Yes, a bouquet you make with your scrap fabric and put on a twisted paper stem or bamboo skewer, well maye it isn't exactly applique, kinds free standing, real cute.. cute!....and a wall hanging called Quick Tricks, and a childs beach towel Splash of Summer with a ducky etc applique on the part that keeps it closed. I am flipping quickly, hope I haven't missed anything.Flower Market is the grandmothers flower garden, I think it is appliqued down to the circle, really cute, you could do more with it using that as a starting point idea.

That is the link for all Better Homes and Gardens quilt mags..wish they had one for just OUR favorite. Please email the editor and tell them you love it and can we have it in more places? They sell out and it's gone! And can they replenish it when it is gone? They seem to get like 4-6 and when it is gone, no more. How can everyone love it too?
Can everyone tell what their favorites are? And what about that Madison quilt and pillow????? pg 56..I know the pillow letters are cut from a panel, but oh my!

It is called Quilts and More, by Better Homes and Gardens. One of those speciality issues, as I posted before, the circulation isn't high enough for a subscription yet.. It only comes out every 3 or 4 months and it is one very special wonderful magazine. Since I discovered it, I love every issue. Quilt and sewing projects, gotta just love it. It tells on the very last page when the next issue will be out. Next one is Aug 19th. This one officially is due out May 6, but I found one today at Krogers Supermarket. I have never met a person who did not just fall in love with it. I hope you can find one to take a look!

I guess I am talking to myself now! I just fell in love with the GFG, the paper pieced project. ... after trying to cut my paper and it takes me a long time to be that accurate..I decided to treat myself and order the darned things from their source in the article! They were so helpful said to chain piece them and cut the thread afterward, the small ones only have like 4 stitches in and she said to call them if we need any help! And she said it is easier to use squares of fabric not hexagons.

Hi BonnieN- You aren't talking to yourself! I'm still watching this post. I can only get online during "naptime" so it takes me a while to get back!
I'm ready to start the GFG coasters! They are a perfect take along project. Oh, and the quilt on pg 36 was made with "cheater blocks". They look like applique, but they are preprinted panels according to the article. I haven't tried to find them online. Maybe I'll try to find them...
I have received my paper templates today in the mail and they are very nice, kinda like cardstock, just right...and reusable. The formula , if anyone isn't sure what size to cut your squares, is take the original width( which is one of the side measurements of your hexagon) times 2 plus 1/2", cut squares not hexqagons they said. It is working out great and I am so enjoying this new to me little project!
One site online said to measure straight across, turns out that was wrong.. it threw me in cutting my squares. Today, I did what the directions said that came with the templates and it is just right. I love this little magazine and hope others find it and love it too. Always some little projects to keep you fresh.
