123 DAYS FROM TODAY WE BEGIN OUR FUN!!!

WELCOME to the official thread for the 2012 HGTV Circle of Friends Quilters Retreat in Branson Missouri !!! We are SO VERY EXCITED you've decided to come to the Ozarks for a FUN time with quilty friends

Thanks to our friend JAYARDI ... we have a countdown clock to see exactly how long we have to wait ... She'll be along here to post her awesome clock to keep us on time!

A COUPLE NOTES

The DATES of the retreat will be Friday, Sept 21st thru Sunday, Sept 23rd, 2012.
The cost of the retreat will be the same as last year, $180

REFUNDS: If for some reason, after you have paid any or all of your monies toward the retreat fee, and you find you have to withdraw, your refund will be sent back, minus the FQ and mailing costs. Refunds will be issued after the final bookkeeping of the event has been completed and only then if there is a positive balance left in the checkbook.(full or partial refund determined by amount in checkbook) This has been the refund policy of all past retreats. Final bookkeeping is determined to be AT THE END OF THE RETREAT, AND MAY NOT BE BEFORE SEPT 30, 2012.

The EARLY BIRD DINNER will be on Thursday, Sept 20th.
Thanks to our SUPER HOSTESS JAYARDI, we now have a thread that announced our dinner will be held at the FABULOUS Andy Williams Moon River Grill ... one of Branson's best and favorite restaurants! Jayardi has published our menu choices, so please go to the thread for info on what to do next We need your menu choice by May 1st

The monies for Early Bird meals and/or hubby meals would be exempt from the refund policy. You would indeed get 100% of that back for sure if you found that you could not attend after you paid for the meals.

Our lodging in Branson will be at the FABULOUS THOUSAND HILLS GOLF RESORT !!!
We will be staying in CONDOs, and it will offer an atmosphere of family and friends and relaxation. See the HOTEL FOR CIRCLE OF FRIENDS thread for more information or look on THE BLOG

We have less than 4 months til we all get to play in Branson, quilty style! We are SO very excited, and I'm sure the time will pass by TOO fast! We are ready for the challenge and FUN!

I'm getting so anxious for this retreat!!!

That first pic of Quilts & Quilts is just sickening. Glad to see they are open again. I did hear on the news a couple of nights ago that most of the businesses that were damaged have already reopened. Even saw pics this morning on the news of Joplin and their rebuilding. It's hard to believe that the Joplin tornado was a year ago.

I'm ready to visit Quilts & Quilts again. I need another T-shirt from there.

I am anxious to come. The repair work on the Quilt shop looks great and can't wait to visit it. Thanks for sharing and hosting. Sue

I'll have to remember that in Sept when Sue and I pull out of my driveway. We annoyed our dad with that same senario.

I'm so ready. Just get through a Houston summer, and then it will be time to pack up and go.

Still not sure about a roomie or traveling arrangements. I know what I'm bringing for show and tell and I know what I'm eating at the Early Bird dinner, though. I take care of the IMPORTANT stuff; details are just little things.

DH is about ready to conk me on the head as it is! I get 10 days for vacation. I took four of them when I took the women only cruise in April. Two for this retreat. That leaves only four for us. Of course if he ever decides to go to Branson, I can halfway claim that those two days were "us" days too. Mmmm...I doubt he'll think the same though...

I promised him that next year would be different. But look out 2014!! The next cruise we take out of Galveston will be to Key West and the Bahamas. I'll be gone eight days! Only five will be vacation days though.

Needlecrazy, Please tell me more about the Show and Tell at the Retreat. This is my first one and I want to do it all.

Sherry, I'm really thinking about driving most of the way on Wednesday and get there in time for the Quilted Cow on Thursday. Still contemplating........

Patty, every retreat is a little different, but most years we do a Show and Tell and have been allowed one project to show (so that we don't spend the entire time introducing ourselves). New Hampshire was a little different since we all made t-shirts that explained something about our home state. Whatever the format, I will have something to show off!

Needlecrazy, thanks for the answer. I'm sure I have something that I can show. I know that Sue has something.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ~~ Retreaters, if you have NOT made your condo arrangements, you have until June 18th to do so... The rooms they are holding will be dropped after that, so please don't delay, and make your hotel arrangements as soon as you can!

ANYONE STILL NEEDING A ROOMIE ??? Let me know!

Goin to work today .... in Branson! I just HAVE to go by the Quilts & Quilts and make sure they are ok, and then over to the F&D store and see how they're doing ... and oh yeah, meeting up with Rainbow for lunch! Your committee hard at work! We're givers like that

Your committee was HARD at work today! Rainbow and I met up for some VERY hard retreat work! Look at the sweat we're breaking!

We'll be posting more pics of QUILTS & QUILTS as we progress ... The new store is BEAUTIFUL and spacious, and roomy and very creative and decorated so nice!!! There's ALOT more square footage, and alot more room to move around

And here's the other end of the store! This place is HUGE!! and SO SO SEW VERY NICE!!! It was actually a blessing in disguise ...

I was talking with the owner, and she said she would have never moved from that other location, but everything fell into place here, as the building was a craft store that was downsizing and wanted something in there that would compliment the crafts side ... a perfect match! HE does bring good from situations that we see as bad

Love the look of the shop and I will have to Visit it. Twist my arm. LOL. Sue

Saved -- just a question for you. Are the condos where we are staying one level or are there stairs? Sure hope they're one level.

Oh, I'm talking about the individual units. Don't care if they're on different floors so long as there's an elevator.

Well we just wanted you to see HOW HARD your committee is working for the retreat! Now we worked up a REAL sweat! ...

ohhhhh shopping carts, maybe Sister Sue will let me ride in her cart. LOL Looks like a super selection. I'll be twisting Sues arm big time to stop there!!!!

Thank you so much. We have sales coming up at our local quilt shop so I figured if I had to buy any to supplement my stash it would be a good time. Plus still nor moving fast so good to plan ahead. Oh well.

Still thinking about your beautiful, intricate signature blocks. I am a turtle - soon to do mine... I've had my material washed and ironed since last September. No procrastination here... I guess in the next few weeks I shall start.

Thanks for posting Donna's pic...have missed her since she moved from Georgia. And she is so busy with her new fella that she doesn't ever post anymore...but, she is happy...and that is what counts. So good to see a good person have good things happen to her!

Kathy ~ yes, she IS very happy! And her DH seemed very nice ... and an interesting story goes along with them She's bummed she can't be in Branson for retreat this year, but is looking forward to NEXT year!

Hey RETREAT GOERS ~ Deadline for MAKING room reservations is this Saturday... after that, the block of rooms will be dropped, and they cannot guarantee their special pricing.... PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO!

ALSO ... if you DROP OUT OF COMING TO RETREAT... please CANCEL YOUR ROOM RESERVATION IF IT IS IN YOUR NAME! If you don't, you will be charged for the first night ... and just think of the FABRIC you could buy with that waste of money!

And please notify your roommates if you need to cancel so they can adjust their schedules and rooming arrangements
