UPDATE: Sunday, July 6th:
TISME HAS ANNOUNCED SHE WILL BE STARTING SIGN UPS THIS WEEK!!!!! KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED, THIS IS A SWAP YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS!

First, if you read this, you have to promise not to PM tisme and ask her what this is about. lol she isn't hosting this swap (yet) but she has in the past and will again.

you might be thinking "you better had been working on those enormous pink/white quilts.." well, i wasn't so stop sassing me! Razz i did work a bit on them earlier tho...

anyway! are you ready for this? ... yeah i don't have a problem... Roll Eyes

i was working on my 20 baggies for tisme's CQ embellishment swap!!! ... wait, here's the kicker... she's not even having it LOLOLOL... I just wanted to be ready for it hahahahah!

so yep, i've got 6 of my 10 items ready... just gotta cut the fabrics and make 40 surprises (or more).

-giggle- i have serious problems don't i? Roll Eyes you KNOW it's bad when you're working on swaps that don't even exist!

Please don't ask where the swap is! She's had it twice before and she'll host it again when she's ready. I don't want her getting swamped with PMs or anything.

Big Grin so... hint, hint.... Tammy.... Big Grin Big Grin

This is NOT a swap right now... just the details so if you're new, you know what i'm talking about.

What was this swap all about?

Well you can make 5-20 baggies (depending on # of swappers) and each baggie should include:

quote:
¨ 3 – 10” pieces of fabric
¨ 3 – 5” pieces of fabric

Goodie Bags:
10 pieces – any of the following:

¨ Lace: this must be 12 inches of skinnier lace
¨ Specialty Yarns: must be 36 inches
¨ Specialty Floss: you should send 1 skein
¨ Buttons: 1-2 large buttons, 3-4 medium, or 5- 6 small buttons they will count as 1 item
¨ Beads: 1 teaspoon of seed beads or 5- 6 specialty beads
¨ Ribbon: 12 inches of special ribbons

Fun Stuff:
any vintage laces, hand crocheted flowers, hand dyed pieces, silk flowers, anything you have ever seen on a CQ block
Your goodie bag must contain 10 pieces (not counting the 6 fabric pieces

The fabric pieces must be
Velvets, silks, satins, brocades, jacquards, and specialty cottons will be allowed
Specialty cottons can be orientals with gold threads,
Any fabric must be light enough to embroider on so please no heavy drapery materials, or large print that can’t be cut down.

1 little extra item for each swapper.

this was all the stuff i got back! Eek it took me 3 days to go thru it all!

I'm not into the CQs at all, but that swap looks like a blast. No wonder you're having so much fun with it...when it doesn't even exist yet Wink

Hopefully it will exist for you soon.

my address labels are already on my baggies, the $13.00 flat rate box is already addressed to her and.... yep inside is a card with my return address labels... and... $30 for the postage. wow, i need a LIFE! I made my hamsters sit and watch me do it all too... hahaha! i explained everything to them as i did it. I wonder if Allan thinks i need dr*gs? or if i'm on them for that matter... Eek Confused

darn, it's 11:45 and i've been falling asleep around 2am lately... early for me. i better start making SOMETHING of the rest of this night. Sass, i'm still working on the tatting you requested Smile it'll be in the mail by Friday July 11th Smile

EW omg!!! no i don't! ick! job... Roll Eyes i have enough going on without that added!

my boyfriend says if i don't want to work, then no work it is. I worked from a young age.. parents owned a deli when i was 11... so i ran the register, cut lunch meat etc... at 12 i babysat the whole summer for about $200-$300/week. not sure where 13 and 14 went... by the time i was 15 i was working as a secretary in an office later at 15 i started waiting tables, loved it and waited tables for almost 10 years. I stopped work in June of 2004 when i was 24. I always used to say "omg i could NEVER be one of those people who sits at home... i'd have to be doing SOMETHING" I loved waiting tables, i'd pick up shifts with over 80 hours a week! ...then suddenly one day (had some other things going on too.. a huge life dilemma) i stopped working... and let me tell you... for the most part... i don't miss it at all. hey, who says sitting at home isn't work? Razz i'm retired now. i'm 28... gonna be the big (ewwwwwwwww) 29 in Feb.

anywho... there i am rambling. speaking of "work" anyone notice i shut up for a little while? yeah well i felt guilty for goofing off half of today so i went and sewed three rows of the BC quilt together Big Grin The 3 rows aren't joined with the sashing... just the 3 rows are together... i'll do more tommorw.

Big Grin

Hey, Talia, why don't YOU host the swap? You're ready to go, lots of other people here are ready to go, so there it is!

Y'all are just too funny. I love reading about all of the CQ stuff--I have more than enough of my own, thank you very much. I use lots of it for doll embellishments, so I usually need bigger pieces than what y'all swap.
