I lloked online and could not find it. I know they have one but it may not be every year. I would like to take a trip up that way again this year. We had lots of fun when we went there a few years ago.

I'm in Bedford which is about 30 miles south of Altoona and I've never heard of a quilt show there. I'll be interested to learn about it if they have one. I know there's one every April in Huntington which is nearby and Bedford has one every year during the first two weeks in October in conjunction with our Fall Foliage Festival. That's a huge craft festival that takes up the entire town for the first two weekends in Oct. We'd love to have you visit us! I'm sure that you would enjoy it.

If you go to www.bedfordfallfestival.com you will find information about the festival and our show. The festival is 48 years old and the quilt show is 21 years old. The show usually has 150-200 quilts and the festival gets about 70,000 visitors each year, plus there are two quilt shops in town and one nearby!

Thank you so much. I am going to go look. I would love to attend. Maybe I can interest some friends in attending with me. I have a quilting retreat the end of October. DH and I were in that area a few years ago in October and we got caught in the mountains in sleet. He sw ore he would never return to that area agin in the fall. We went to a museum somewhere up there that was old wholecloth quilts. A little old man was running the place. He was so nice and informative and the quilts were incredible. If I am ever in the area again I would definitely go there again.

I just visited that site. I am trying to get DH interested. I used the antique car show to entice him. We'll see if he agrees. It looks like one could have a great time there.

The museum that you visited is probably the National Coverlet Museum. It's in an old school. It will be open for the festival and there's a weaving studio in the old jail that, I think, will be also be open. We don't usually get sleet or snow in October, but if you were in Somerset County to our west it would be a definite possibility. They're in the mountains, but we're in a valley.

And there's always Old Bedford Village to tour. In nice weather, there used to be some ladies working on a quilt - hand quilting, of course.

I love visiting Old Bedford Village. It is a great look into yesteryear. Our school went there for grade 3 field trip every year when my kids were small and I would go as a chaperone.

The Hershey Quilt Show is July 26-29. It's always a great show. I wouldn't miss it. My guild has taken a bus in the past. It's a great way to go. You don't have to worry about driving and we always have a great Show and Tell on the trip home where everyone shows what they bought! That show always has a great vendors' mall and, of course, beautiful quilts.
